#9 Kasey Kahne: The Man

About Me

I am here for christian friends and friends who love NASCAR. If you are a believer and truly follow the word of our Lord God, then we can be friends. My wife and children are my strength second to Our Lord and Savior; we have been through so much suffering and pain, all my doing, but I have gotten back on Gods path and will remain strong in HIS word for myself and my family. I love my wife and my children very much and with Our Gods guidance we will continue to grow for HIM.My TestimonyI was taken from my father at the age of 2 by an abusive mother from New Jersey to Florida in 1967; by 1971 my mother remarried and I was adopted in 1972, and my stepfather was just as abusive if not more than my mother, all being mental and physical. By 1975, I began asking questions about my birth father, The answers drew more questions than answers, which were accumulating more as the days passed. By 1979 the physical and mental abuse was almost daily with no end in sight. I was a star athlete (Cross Country and Track, and a promissing musician this is all at the age of 14. It was an escape from the abuse that was a monster that could not be lifted. I did the sports and music to escape and to keep me from being home. With the promises of freedom from the abuse as long as I was not home. All of the ackalades and promises from the school activities was all under the influence of drugs and alcohol, which had become a daily ritual for me to help deal with the pain, which had become enevitable. By 1983, my senior year of high school I was included in the top 10 track and cross country runners in the state of Florida and included in the top 5 best trumpet players for that year in the state, still involving drugs and alcohol. They were my release from reality and they were all I believed in. By 1988, still questioning my birth father, and dealing with the abuse, the alcohol and drug use escalated, all turning into the monster which was consuming me more and more, I graduated from a community college with my associates degree, and decided it was time to attempt my first suicide, which was through sleeping pills, a failed attempt, but none the less I was diagonised with ADHD with Severe Depression, medications didnot seem to help, so I stopped taking them and began to self medicate again with alcohol and drugs. By 1990, I was at the bottom of the food chain, drugs and alcohol had increased to the point I could not get drunk or high enough, shoot snort, burn, name it I did it, to no avail, so then came suicide attempt number two, this time I tried cutting my wrists, this gave me sometime in the hospital, and time to clean up, for a few weeks, and I was back on the street, yes the street, I had lost everything, and was living on the street, surviving day to day which turned into hour to hour, this lasted until 1991, I was given a phamplet for a mission church, I had nothing else to do, so I went, and God opened the door for my new life, that evening I began to praise and worship, with the church members, and fellow homeless people. God moved me to dedicate my life to Him, which I did. I stopped the drugs and alcohol and I can honestly say that I have been clean and sober for 15 years and counting. Praise be to God, I sent Him all the praise and thankfulness.I had finally moved away from the abuse and was out on my own, lifes ups and downs, had taken there toll, even being clean and sober, for 15 years, in Febuary 2007, my wife and I were told by God to go to the court house and search records seeking answers. The records I searched I had looked at so many other times, suddenly my answers were coming. With the flip of a page, the Divorce decree, between my mother and my father was infront of me with the Social Security number of my father being clearly visible to me, I wrote it down and contected a friend who had access to backgroung information, and within 2 hours I had my fathers last recorded address, so I went for a drive, and the awesome part is my father lived only 30 miles from me. Pulling up to his house, I was elated, in fear of what if he does not share my enthusim, or worse if he has passed away. My lifes search had hopefully come to an end, after 26 years.I approached his front door and knocked, he opened it and all that came out of my mouth was would you like to meet your son, he was elated. We talked for hours and caught up on the past 40 years of our lives. God has answered prayers, my father was looking for me, but did not know my adopted name, so he had no luck, but never gave up. July of this year my father was diaginosed with prostate cancer, which has currently began to spread. I am currently living with him, and his caregiver. He has been given 6 months-1 year to live. He is currently not saved, and I pray that he will seek and find our Lord God and become saved. My birth father, followed the same path in life from employment to drugs and alcohol. I have changed and ended the drugs and alcohol, he has ended the drugs, but still has the alcohol. All of this has been possible with God and my wife helping me search for the answers I have needed. God is Awesome!!I simply ask that you pray for my father and anyone else you know who is involved in drugs, alcohol, mental or physical abuse, to gain strength from Our Lord God to help them regain their lives, as God will have the be, and to help those who are delivering the mental and physical abuse, to give them the strength to stop the cycle, to become better children of God.Amen
