Okay, here we go.... primarily I LOVE wyld sixties garage punk, particularly Australian.. surprised? You shouldn't be, it's the BEST!! admit it.. Faves are the Purple Hearts, the Missing Links, The Easybeats, The Atlantics, The Loved Ones, Tol-Puddle Martyrs, the Chimney Sweeps....Here's some fab footage of the Easybeats doing a few songs with the best Aussie go-go girls in the business!!
AND PART 2!! Love the Standells, the Who, the Chocolate Watchband, Nancy Sinatra, the Ronettes, The Kinks, The Poets, Los Shains, so many others!! I totally love this song... Also modern bands inspired by those crazy sixties sounds, The Maggots, Dr Explosion HOW COOL ARE THESE GUYS?! .. the 5678's and bands from the 80's who were likewise inspired, again, too many to list.. also love real glam rock from the early 70's like Suzi Quatro, T-Rex, Bowie, New York Dolls, as well as the rougher stuff like the Stooges and the MC5 and some punk from the later 70's, the Buzzcocks, Ramones, The Damned... our local counterparts, the Saints, Radio Birdman... I love all the Australian music that I grew up listening to, particularly the Stems, the Church, the Hoodoo Gurus, the Scientists, Beasts of Bourbon, The Lime Spiders, The Cosmic Psychos, The Eastern Dark, The Screaming Tribesmen, Died Pretty, Voodoo Lust, aaagh! So many, I can't list them all!! Also love spacerock, psychedelia, stoner rock (I am the world's BIGGEST Monster Magnet fan.. it's TRUE!!) rockabilly, surf instros as well as jungle exotica and cheesy lounge music.. loads of stuff!!

Your Theme Song is Groove is in the Heart by Dee-lite
"We're going to dance
And have some fun"
For you, life should be one huge party...
And even though it's not, you tend to dance your troubles away!
What's Your Theme Song? HMM... Apparently...!? At least they wore some groovy outfits in the video!
The Italian Job, ORIGINAL VERSION of course!! Yellowbeard, Our Man Flint, Casino Royale, Harold And Maude, the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Monty Python movies, anything by Russ Meyer, Biker and psychedelic flicks, James Bond movies (particularly the ones with Sean Connery), Speedway, Blue Hawaii and Viva Las Vegas, Gypsy, Barbarella, Vampiros Lesbos (that soundtrack!!!),The Year My Voice Broke, Pee Wee's Big Adventure... Hell, Trash Video is in my town, every trashy film I could ever want to see on my doorstep!!
Cartoons, mostly Hanna Barbera and Warner Brothers... of course the Jetsons are my fave! Closely followed by The Beatles and Jackson 5 cartoons and Marine Boy (a really old Japanese cartoon, kinda like Astro Boy but much cooler!) The Groovy Goolies, Josie and the Pussycats and The Hair Bear Bunch.. The Partridge Family were always so much cooler than the Brady Bunch because they were a family who were also a band... and Keith was such a spunk when I was four years old... Other shows from the sixties and seventies that I grew up watching, like I Dream of Jeannie, Bewitched Get Smart, Batman, the Monkees, The Banana Splits, Sigmund the Sea-Monster, Lost in Space (The Jupiter 2 left earth on my 28th birthday... weird!)the Addams Family and Lancelot Link: Secret Chimp ... I also like the Young Ones and Little Britain is quite hilarious... aside from that, television ROTS YER BRAIN KIDS!!
Biographies mostly, particularly those of Ronnie Spector ("Be My Baby"), Gypsy Rose Lee and "Sorry - the Wretched tale of Little Stevie Wright"... tragic story, but a very interesting read. I'm currently reading "Pig City" by Andrew Stafford, a great book on Brisbane music from the early to mid seventies til the present.. read it if you can get a hold of a copy!
David Bowie... without him I wouldn't have discovered as much cool music as I did during my teenage years, and he is the only man in the world who could EVER look sexy with a mullet...
Iggy Pop for saving my life in 1989 (and, well, for being Iggy Pop!!), Dave Wyndorf for being able to be a rock god AND a nice guy at the same time (aside from writing some mindblowing songs as well!)...hmm... Big Pretzel is my go-go heroine... Lori Williams is another go-go heroine. I love Tura and Haji too
Ann Margret, what a kitten!
Poison Ivy, the ultimate redhead rock'n'roll supervixen...
I know there are others out there, just gotta think about it a bit more...
