About Me

Speed of Sound appears on the GaragePunk Podcast network.Although Speed of Sound appears in fits and starts, host Blair B. loves to share both new and old favorites. He spent the 90s doing The Teen Scene fanzine, devoted to pretty much everything you're reading about in the Music section. As an undergrad in the mid-80s, he did a radio show devoted to cool garage sounds, as well. Once he went back for grad school in the mid 90s, the first thing he did after registering was to get a show there, as well.
Blair put the fanzine to bed in 2000, briefly doing one - No Place Fast - again in newsletter (then online) fashion for a year or two before saying goodbye again. While he keeps threatening to get back to writing, at least in blog form, time is at a premium, between work and his two bands, The Miscreants and The Coal Gems . (This also explains why it takes time for new episodes of Speed of Sound.
Regardless, Speed Of Sound is here for your enjoyment.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Like-minded (eared?) individuals with a rock'n'roll obsession.

Music:

Garage rock, punk, power pop, some psych (though rarely the dippy stuff), old style country, old R&B, blues, pure rock'n'roll, rockabilly, etc.
