About Me

Hi. My name's Liz, and I'm a recovering lawyer. For as long as I can remember, I've entertained myself by creating stories in my mind. Some made me laugh. Some made me cry. All made me appear emotionally disturbed to the people around me. After practicing law for a couple of years, I returned to school to pursue yet another degree (I didn't feel I was deep enough in debt). There, I rediscovered the joy of being bored to tears in class. One day, instead of taking notes on thermohaline circulation, I jotted down some dialogue running through my head. (My mid-term results were not pretty.) I haven't stopped writing since. www.lizcraven.com

My Interests

SCUBA Diving

Travel: I have a list that keeps growing (Antarctica, climb Kilimanjaro, hike the Great Wall, lie on a Tahitian beach, dive the Great Barrier Reef . . .)

Reading: Anything I can get my hands on

Wine: I'm just learning, but find the subject fascinating (and delicious)

Writing: Of course

I'd like to meet:

My future self. Just think of all the advice I could give me!

Music:

I have an eclectic taste in music. I love Queensryche, Meat Loaf's Bat out of Hell Albums, Jimmy Buffet, The Eagles, Motown, Rock, Classic Rock, Jazz, Classical, and much more!

Movies:

Star Wars (the original trilogy, not the wimpy prequels)

Lord of the Rings

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (I know, I know)

Indiana Jones I & III (What was up with II?)

Books:

I don't even know where to start, but here are a few:

and many, many more . . .

Sometimes, I hate being right

The three sweetest words in the English language are not "I love you."  They are "Told you so!"  For once, I get no pleasure in saying that.  (Okay, maybe a little pleasure . . . but no...

Living in DC

When I moved to DC for the summer, I expected to be blown away.  I was right -- the architecture, the museums, the history, the art, the license plates.  No, that wasn't a test to see if you...

Hezbolla, Hijackers, and Paris Hilton

I have ADD.  Anyone who knows me, knows this.  Anyone around me knows this.  I understand short attention spans.  But even I'm astounded at the speed we've lost interest in major w...
