About Me

Layout Provided By FreeCodeSource.com - Myspace Layouts Christina Reckard was born and raised in Huntington, Indiana. Her mother was a piano teacher and between lessons taught Christina to sing some of her favorite gospel songs. According to her mother, she started asking to sing and begged her mom to let her have a chance. When she was just three and a half years old, she got the opportunity. From what her mom said, the person who was supposed to sing that Sunday at church did not show up. To this day, Christinas dad says he remembers her marching up to the front in her little green dress covered in ruffles. He says she did not appear the least bit scared. She just wanted to get up on that stage and perform.Christina continued to perform wherever and whenever she could. She performed in church, talent shows, high school musicals, and any other opportunity that presented itself. In her free moments, she spent her time absorbing all the musical influences around her. She loved to listen to all kinds of music and really tried to emulate everything she heard. After she graduated high school, Christina decided to go to college to major in music. She thinks it took a little time for her parents to adjust to the idea of her wanting to do music for a living. There was always that fear of the starving artist. Once she brought home her first check from performing, they realized she was determined to make a career out of singing. While attending college, Christina continued to perform continuously. She toured around the country performing in various venues including a stint at Carnegie Hall.Following college, Christina spent time headlining her own shows. She eventually joined a band based out of Charlotte, NC. The band worked clubs up and down the East coast with their high-energy performances. She loved the concept of the band; it was a pure adrenaline show.Though she enjoyed the band, Christinas heart was in Nashville. She decided it was time to make the move to Music City. She always knew Nashville was where she wanted to be, and she just felt it was the right time. She wasnt afraid of moving to Nashville; in fact, she was just driven enough to take the leap. Christina knew if she could just get someone to take a chance on her, she would make her dream of success happen. Christina can now be seen performing her own solo shows as well as performances with the disco cover band, Body & Soul.
