About Me
welcome to my page. i'm an artist and a musician. on the music side i spent a ton of time on the road with the band, sleeping on the couches of the nation and sipping on its free beer. gotta say it's been a ball. met loads of really cool people from all over the place. i've been on your radio, your tv and gave music to your movies. maybe i'm on your ipod, maybe you're on mine. i draw too. there's a couple pics i did up on this site, more on the way. so far it's all been pretty straight up representational art, that may change... stay tuned. i like art museums and art galleries and websites with art. i want to have a piece in a museum one day.
i started playing music when i was 9 and was soon playing not only drums but piano and guitar, but i've always had the most fun on drums. i also got into playing a bunch of classical percussion (mostly xylophone and marimba, love that shit). after high school i went to indiana university in bloomington and snagged a bachelor's degree in jazz. woohoo. miles rulz!! after graduation i put the jazz on the shelf in favor of loud smokey clubs and rock and roll, yeah... i started touring with rock bands and moved all over the country to where ever each new band was from, kim fox/indiana (dreamworks), acoustic junction/colorado (capricorn), spookie daly pride/boston (funzalo). aside from our own national tours, we got to hit the road from time to time as an opener for some real badass bands - rusted root, toots and the maytals, the samples, the wailers, cheap trick, bon jovi, tom tom club, ben folds five, pm. dawn, the radiators, arrested development, gov't mule, alana davis, lisa loeb, 10,000 maniacs, fastball, bernie taupin, gavin degraw, leftover salmon, soul coughing, hell even vanilla ice! tour is a blast, and a great way to see the country - been to 47 states (are there any clubs in the dakotas? would like to see alaska someday...) anyway, i've also had the pleasure to perform and record with artists like todd thibaud, frank manzi, andrew jones and spirit house, katie terrio, queen v, barry kingston and the screaming souls, putnam murdock; so many broken drumsticks, so many hangovers, so many all-night drives and trips across the desert in the summer with no air conditioning, and thank god for AAA, that card is so worth it. well, that's the story so far...come out and see me play sometime, say hi, we'll have a beer... enough about me...
