What Ye Be Looking At...?

About Me

When you get right down to it, I'm a guy chasing his dreams. It's time to see though if they are dreams or something more. I came across a phrase this week that fit perfectly. No More Words. The time for talking about it is gone, it's now all about doing it.

I published my first book I Am...which is a book of poetry about who I was at 22. I am now in the process of finishing my first novel called The Immortality Syndrome. Beyond that, I'm getting ready for San Diego. I have two comic series getting ready for publication. The first one is based on the picture you see right now on my icon. Veritas is a modern day Pilgrim's Progress. In a world filled with doubt and constant second guessing, where is God where it hurts?
I write a column at comicbloc, and am about to start one at Maverick Magazine. When I'm not writing I'm hanging out with my girlfriend, reading, playing with vitamins and herbs and doing the best I can to enjoy life.

My Interests

Reading, Writing, Comics, Video Games, Girls

I'd like to meet:

Music:

A Perfect Circle, Alter Bridge, Collide, Delirious, Disturbed, Evanescence, Finger Eleven, Jars Of Clay, Kevin Max, Metallica, Mindi Abair, No More Dolls, Norah Jones, OTEP, Phil Collins, Starfield, Switchfoot, U2.I'm most comfortable in contemporary but occasionally I do play heavier things.

Movies:

The Matrix, Batman Begins, Terminator 2, Looney Tunes: Back In Action, Space Jam, Angels in the Outfield,

Television:

Bleach, Full Metal Alchemist, Hockey, Babylon 5, DS9, Star Trek TNG and not too much else. Right now I have no cable television and I love it. A lot less grief and negative content.

Books:

Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. The only book ever to scare me. This was the book that taught me to think. I think the real secret to Ray Bradbury's success is his constant ability to make you laugh, cry and discover that life indeed is full of joy. I still love this story. The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan...I remember reading it as a comic initially and was captivated. The quest to find a place like the heavenly city and the struggles you travail the whole way is something I can relate to.The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. I think this is the most romantic story about I've ever read, and I was left in tears at the ending. A great story. If I write one half as good, I'll be lucky.Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand. This book points out the power of the individual and reminds me how fragile things really are. Oddly I feel this becomes more relevant as time goes on.Perhaps most importantly, the Bible. Never in literature or history do you come across people so human, likeable, dislikeable, more like me or you than in this book. It's the only book I read that writes itself on you if you let it. My favorite part is the gospels. Jesus as a human being is so fascinating to me. More than dying, more than his miracles, I'm amazed at how he lived.

Heroes:

Jesus, Dad, my Grandmother, Martin Luther King Jr, Leonardo Da Vinci, Abraham Lincoln, Any doctor that tries to heal, Green Lantern.
