God excellently executed his great power when he created a servant that would be eventually known as D. Rashawn Givans.To some he’s known as an intellectual, to others a prolific ministry leader, to others a dear relative or friend, and yet to others an astute businessman. It was evident at an early age that the hand of God was upon him. Pastor Givans recalls many prophesying that he would do great things in ministry and it is clear that God’s plan for his life has richly impacted the lives of others.The consummate student, he graduated from the Texas Senior High School in Texarkana, Texas, and moved to Dallas, Texas shortly thereafter to pursue a higher level of education at the University of Phoenix – Dallas Campus. In 1997, he joined True Way Church of God in Christ and began to sharpen his ministry gifts under the guidance of Superintendent Fredric L. Gant, and later in 2002, became Assistant Pastor of His Heart, His Deity International Worship Center, under the pastorate of Pastor Eric Gant, and served there for two years prior to returning to True Way in 2006. May 27, 2007 proved to be a pivotal day for Pastor Givans’ life as he officially founded and organized The Threshing Floor Church of God in Christ which is in the Grace Cathedral District in the Texas Northeast 3rd Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ.An avid lover of music, Pastor Givans has had the great privilege to serve in the International Music Department of the Church of God in Christ under the direction of Professor Iris Stevenson, as well as serve as Choral Director and Praise & Worship member at True Way, and later Minister of Music at His Heart, His Deity. His love of music and the favor of God on his life would later afford him the opportunity to frequent the presence of many celebrated Gospel artists including, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Karen Clark-Sheard, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, James Hall, Twinkie Clark, & Tonex, just to name a few. In 2007, he was graced with the opportunity to begin the fan club of one of Gospel’s most famed artists, Twinkie Clark, of the legendary Clark Sisters, entitled, “Watch Out Twink!â€An enthralling entrepreneur, Pastor Givans co-founded The Threshing Group, and serves as the President & CEO. Through God’s favor, this firm has quickly become a name of excellence in the Dallas market and was showcased in the August 2007 issues of Epitome & Gospel USA Magazines respectively. Pastor Givans is also the proprietor of “The Rashawn Collection†a soon-to-come clothing line which features men’s and women’s apparel, and is set to showcase as early as Fall 2008. He further lends his gifts to Givans Management Group, a management firm that manages and develops the careers of new and established Gospel artists, and D. Rashawn Givans Ministries, which houses his ministerial endeavors.Pastor Givans’ vision continues to thrive on excellence in every facet of ministry; Specifically, he is a champion of teaching and preaching the uncompromised word of God in a pragmatic and practical way; endeavoring to perpetuate an environment that is conducive to helping each believer realize a destiny that is filled with purpose and promise.
