"Life is too short. We've no time to waste.
Remember: It's about Jesus. Herein is no debate.
Quickly cease to hate, and learn to celebrate.
Even if we don't relate, we can still communicate.
So, before it's too late, make haste to contemplate,
'I'd better get it straight in 2008!'"

About Li'l Ol' Me:
My name is Cassandra Jean Kelley aka "Cassie" (Smile). I am the loving wife of Walter Kelley; the devoted mother of one daughter, Crystal, two sons, Vincent and Xavier, and two Godsons, Dante' and Rodney Oliver. My favorite color is red, and I enjoy seafood. My basic temperament is melancholy, with my greatest strength being loyal to whatever I commit myself to.
I inherited the gifts of rhythm and song from my parents, Carrie and Varney Roberson. I have three sisters and no brothers. Due to my birthday (September 26th) being after September 1st, I graduated from Eastern Hills High School in May of 1982, instead of 1981. Later that Fall I attended one of two years at Texas Court Reporting College in Haltom City, TX. It is no longer there. During my studies at the college, I began to experience the inspiration of songwriting. Consequently, I struggled with the inability to remain focused on my first career choice. So, I discontinued my pursuit in the field of court reporting.
Currently, I am a member of Holy Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, where I serve as Head Choir Director of the Sanctuary Choir and a member of the Adult Praise Team. My mother, a former Minister of Music of Holy Tabernacle COGIC, used me as her Assistant Choir Director when I was 15 years old. My father was the organist during that time.
Occasionally, I am called upon to render sermonic solos. Superintendent Robert L. Sample is my pastor and 1st Administrative Assistant to the presiding prelate of Texas Northwest Jurisdiction, Bishop William H. Watson, II of Lubbock, TX. I am a former but self-made "honorary" member of Texas Northeast First Jurisdiction, presided by Bishop J. Neaul Haynes of Dallas, TX (Smile).
Down through the years I have sung as a background vocalist and lead singer for various groups and choirs within the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, which included: "The Living Lights", which my "play" sister Tamela Mann (niece of Pastor Sample) was also a part, under the direction of Mark Sample (son of Pastor Sample); "Rebirth", under the direction of Rev. Alvin Pope; "The Texas Community Choir", under the direction of Rev. Milton Pace; "The Sounds of a New Era," under the direction of Min. Willie Stewart, Jr.; "God's Company", under the direction of the late Rev. James Moore, during his brief stay in Dallas, TX; "DFW Mass Choir", which I directed my father's song, "I Praise Him", lead by my mother, on the choir's first recording; "Ricky Womack and Partners In Praise", under the direction of the late Min. Ricky Womack; and the "Anointed New Creations Choir", under the direction of Rev. Robert L. Redding, Jr.
As a soloist I have been invited to sing at countless musicals, anniversary and appreciation services, weddings, banquets, and funerals. My desire has never been to seek prestige, fortune, or fame, but to share my God-given gifts to inspire, encourage, uplift, and bring comfort to others. I describe it as, "giving back to God what He so graciously gave to me"; because I've got enough sense to realize that I am nothing without Him!
Currently, I am making preparations to become a solo recording artist and to develop and organize "Soul-Search Music Ministries" for future music conferences, etc. I also plan to submit some of my original compositions to other professional gospel recording artists, to help spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and push the kingdom of God forward. The month of September is very important to me, for the following reasons: 1) It's the first month of Fall, my favorite season; 2) The first Monday is Labor Day (lift your hands, and tell the Lord, "Thank Ya!"); 3) My best friend Sharon's birthday is on the 7th. She was born a year after me; 4) My mother's birthday is on the 18th. She doesn't look her age (74 this year!); 5) The late Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark, whom I met for the first time in September of 1975, went home to be with the Lord on the 22nd, in 1994, and was funeralized on the 28th. The Clark Sisters' father Rev. Elbert Clark passed away this same month, in 2004. The late Bishop G. E. (Gilbert Earl) Patterson was born on the 22nd, in 1939; 6) In 2003 I was recognized as "Student of the Year," within the Sunday School Department of my church, on the 23rd, and again in 2007, on the 9th; 7) My parents' wedding anniversary is on the 24th; 8) My birthday is on the 26th. Ironically, the doctor that delivered me at birth committed suicide on my 33rd birthday!; 9) My pastor's wife, Missionary Dollie Sample, was born on the 28th; 10) My maternal grandfather, the late Rev. Leroy Bradley, was born on the 29th; 11) In 2003 I attended the Annual Singers and Musicians Conference, presented by Dr. Dorinda Clark-Cole & Lifeline Productions, for the very first time...on my 40th birthday! It was a gift to myself. (Smile); 12) I met my husband-to-be in late September of 1981. We married three years after I graduated from high school. He's been "stuck" on me ever since! LOL

Our lives would be absolutely nothing without Your breath of life in us, Your protective armor upon us, Your loving arms around us, Your goodness and mercy behind us, and Your Son's example before us. We worship You, O Lord; for You alone are God. Be Thou exalted in the heavens and in the earth. Though we can never truly repay You for kindness towards us, we love You and totally surrender to Your will and way. Forgive us and cleanse us. Equip us and free us. Strengthen us and keep us, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen." ~CJK

On Tuesday night, October 31, 2006, God planted this thought in my mind to ponder it and then share it with you. It's purpose is to bring awareness and hope to us all. After you've read it, invite others to come by my page and increase their knowledge, as well: "Have you ever let your mind roam and wander into "The Land of What If's..." and found yourself sick with a case of "Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda Syndrome"? Some of the symptoms of SCWS are: 1) feelings of regret, 2) disgust, 3)dispair, 4) disappointment, and 5) an overall dissatisfaction with your lot in life. These symptoms are triggered by the dysfunction of the will of man with God's divine plan and are often accompanied by an ungrateful, murmuring, grumbling and complaining spirit! At some time or another we've all experienced it; because it is the nature of the flesh to compare and compete, desiring to HAVE and to BE. The Bible lets us know in Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version) that God knows the plans that He has for us...plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. Romans 8:28 (King James Version) says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." Excuse me, whose purpose? HIS purpose! Why? Because we belong to Him and were made for His glory--not our own. God's way of doing things doesn't always make sense to us believers, as well as to the unbelievers. Yet, He is God, and we must accept what He allows. Try all you want, to change life's course; but when all is said and done, God's got it all in control, "Boo". I know it's frustrating to sacrifice time, money, career and life's little luxuries, while missing out on all kinds of opportunities, etc., simply because it's NOT YOUR TIME. Been there, done that, "ain't cryin' over spilled milk!" (ya heard?) But here's my prescription for SCWS: Take a "chill pill" and flow with God's will. If you learn how to deal, you'll eventually heal!" LOL

IMPORTANT NOTICE:Though the news of a physical assault upon Juanita Bynum-Weeks is both shocking and saddening, PLEASE be prayerful about her physical, mental and spiritual recovery. This is actually an attack of the devil, to discredit God's calling upon her life. Don't faint! Neither scoff nor doubt! God is STILL ON THE THRONE, and HE WILL bring her out! Also, in honor and respect to Bishop Thomas W. Weeks, III, let us remember to pray for him as well. Hebrews 12:14 says, "Follow peace with ALL MEN (mankind), and holiness, without which NO MAN (no one) shall see the Lord." Be encouraged, Bishop Weeks; for your life is in God's hands. Therefore, trust Him completely, love Him deeply, serve Him faithfully, and He will bless you mightily...in Jesus' name. Amen.

Standing firm in the faith,
"Cassie"

The main mission of an anointed minstrel is to make melodious music that ministers the gospel to all mankind, while magnifying the majestic and matchless name of Jesus the Messiah, who works miracles and moves mountains, and makes provisions that marvel many. Give God the glory, as you share His story, playing and singing with conviction and integrity. The proof of your Christianity is in the fruit of your living. So, don't give to be seen; but be seen giving! (Smile)

Add to My Profile | More Videos Besides my dear mother, Madam Carrie Roberson, the late Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark is the greatest musical influence in my life. I often sense the presence of Dr. Clark in some of my original songs, such as, "Jesus Is That Grace", "I Know Who You Represent", "He's the Great Emmanuel", and "He's Risen", to name a few. The Clark Sisters are also an inspiration, because of their unique vocal abilities and God's anointing upon their lives. Dorinda Clark-Cole is my favorite female vocalist; Donnie McClurkin is my favorite male vocalist.

Well, I've been smitten with admiration for Dr. Dorinda Clark-Clark's music ministry, since the first time I heard her, in person, in July of 1976 at UNAC-5 (United National Auxiliaries Convention-5, as in five auxiliaries: Sunday School; Mission; Evangelism; Music; Youth, which is now called, "AIM" or Auxiliaries In Ministry) of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. Dorinda has a unique and sensitive style of singing that's all her own. She reminds me so much of her mother. It's incredible! Dorinda is also a remarkable songwriter and powerful evangelist! She is a perfect example of using everything God put in her for His glory.

Pastor Donnie McClurkin's "story behind the glory" gives him a right to minister in word and song, the way he does! He has a true heart for God and a real concern for the souls of men. That's totally awesome! Servanthood precedes greatness. To me Donnie's great!

Thanks be to God for bringing to the world a powerful source of strength, love, and musical excellence, through the person of Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark. Oh, how I miss her! I first met her in September of 1975, when she was in Fort Worth, TX for a music workshop, sponsored by Mrs. Charlene Evans. I was instantly captivated by her unique form of expertise in music instruction and choral directing. I remember my mom being very hoarse that night of the workshop/rehearsal. After Sis. Clark taught the chorus of, "Christ Is Coming Back Again", she needed a lead vocalist. So, she beckoned for several sopranos to come forth and try for the lead. Finally, a few of the choir members directed Sis. Clark's attention to my mom, who responded, "I'm hoarse". Sis. Clark insisted that she come anyway! I didn't understand that, at first, and it made me mad, to be honest; but then, something miraculous happened! As Mom sang that song under the anointing of the Holy Ghost, her hoarseness left, and the Spirit of the Lord came down (you had to be there to know what I'm talking about)! From that day forward I remained a loyal, lifetime fan of the one-and-only Mattie Moss-Clark. She truly was the best. "I know I got that right!" (Smile)

Vickie Winans is an "In Yo' Face" gospel singer, who ain't (I mean, "who is not") scared of the devil! Ya heard me? She's been through too much to worry about what anybody-- other than her heavenly Father--thinks about her. Vickie Winans is a superb artist and successful entrepreneur. If you've got ANY issues with her, you'd better "shake yourself loose", honey, and testify with the rest of us, shouting, "Thank God Almighty, I'm free!" Somebody ought to dance right there! If you don't, I will...just give me a little room! LOL

(This is an inspirational quote that God gave me on August 25, 2006, after 9 o'clock p.m. I just marvel at how God operates, when we yield ourselves completely to His will!) If I were you...who would be me? I've got to be what God called me to be. In His likeness and His image did He create me, so that the world could behold Him and give Him glory. It is all about Him and not at all about me. I'm only here to "work the works of Him that sent me (St. John 9:4, KJV)". If I were you...who would be me? You now have the answer to your inquiry!
