I like people who don't preach. No, I don't mean that in a religious sense, I just mean people who refuse to set out a way of living which won't be followed.
Rock/Alternative and Electronica. Am open to most styles but prefer it upbeat. Doesn't have to be loud, fast or heavy necessarily. Fakeness is a turn-off for me. A genuine interest in music is important. Am not actually a satanist or anti-religion in case you got that idea.
I am keen on most films as they are all brilliant in their own way. Ok, there are exceptions, like Rocky Balboa. Sylvester Stallone seems like a good actor (I will need to watch more of his films to make a full judgement) but the film seems to have no real plot. Also xXx was a film I found so boring I switched it off halfway through (in case you don't realise it's one of these films where people shoot each other/blow things up every five minutes). Other than that... I don't tend to watch the same film over and over again but the ones that tend to stick in my mind are Taxi Driver, Human Traffic, American Beauty, Baise Moi (means 'fuck me' in French apparently!), Trainspotting and Spinal Tap.
I mainly like comedy and drama. Favourite shows (old and new) at the moment are Nathan Barley, and the Peep Show. Need to keep up with Shameless a bit more. Watched a bit of the fifth series but gave up. Have also enjoyed Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares.
I tend to read a mixture of novels and non-fiction books. My favourite authors overall are Michel Houellebecq and Irvine Welsh, though I have mixed feelings about their writing in both cases. On the non-fiction side will read anything according to what grabs my interest at that very moment. 1960s films, rave culture in the 1990s, scientific research, who's buying what, if I want to know about it I want to read about it.
