SjW is an unsigned British rock group formed in Berkshire in 2005, who's music encorporates elements of traditional, classic and progressive rock. The bands sound is firmly entrenched in the traditions of stadium rock acts and super groups such as Led Zeppelin, The Who and Queen with a tip of the hat to the great power trio's Rush, Cream, The Police, Kings X & Hendrix.SjW came to be in Bracknell, Berkshire when Simon White (bass/vocals ) scored his debut album ‘talk on corners’, after returning from a year and half tour of the Middle East. The album was then recorded at no machine studio’s in Wokingham (Berkshire) with musicians Ben Mathews ( two spot gobi ) on Drums and Jamie Hunt (ex Biomechanical ) on Guitar. Both Ben and Jamie then moved on continuing hectic touring and recording schedules with their respective bands leaving Simon to build a band around the completed album. The bands unusual but memorable name is commonly thought to be an abbreviation of bassist/ vocalist Simon james White’s name. The band continues gigging regularly while they write their 2nd album and as yet untitled follow up to ‘Talk on Corners’ which is due for release in September 08SjW play music from a time when rock was rock and the super group was king, combining classic rock style with a fresh and up to date sound, often referencing from where it came without ever taking a backwards step.

Ed Bretten, 104.7 Minster FM
"Streamlined hard rock. Nine tracks hit home reflecting Simon's no-frills approach with the occasional touch of acoustic reflection thrown in. Razor-edged cut 'Sailing On' has all the trademarks demanded by the modern rock fan, and given sufficiant airplay would prove a hit with the cognoscenti. Promising."
Keith Ames, Editor Musician Magazine
