About Me

Make room for Ray Johnson whose place in history has been only vaguely defined. Johnson's beguiling, challenging art has an exquisite clarity and emotional intensity that makes it much more than simply a remarkable mirror of its time, although it is that, too.
-Roberta Smith, The New York Times (1995)

I am a performance/collage/pop/mail artist...
find out more about my work here: www.rayjohnsonestate.com
This page is the home of The Myspace Correspondence School... the idea being to carry on the sterling work started by the New York Correspondence School, using the Internet and postal networks to initiate communication between artists by prompting collaborative artworks... henceforth known as "moticos"...
please send us your images and artwork (either by email or post) and we will post them on to other members of the Correspondence School who will then alter or add to the piece to creat something new... it is up to each artist to decide when a "motico" is "finished"... the final piece can either travel back here for use in a "motico" show/catalogue in the future...
we are interested in blurring the boundaries of authorship... there is no one artist... there is only the work...
if you want to join us please send us your address and take part in something special... and join us at groups.myspace.com/correspondences
