About Me

Welcome to the micro-radio station WFRD. Stay and listen. You might discover some cool new music. You certainly won't on Gainesville commercial radio anymore.
I'm a lifetime radio obsessive. I'm also a graduate student at the University of Florida. I work locally in Gainesville in the criminal justice system. This involves going to the county jail on a daily basis (!!!).
I'm currently the program director for WGOT-LP, a community radio station in Gainesville affiliated with The Civic Media Center. We are also a Pacifica Radio affiliate. I host the Monday evening program, Stripped, which discusses news and comment, every Monday evening at 9pm ET.
Good quality local music is my thing. I even write about it in local publications on occasion, including weekly music reviews in The Satellite. This and taking care of our young son, Aiden, take up most of our time. 'sall good!
I've worked in radio for over a dozen years in both Gainesville and Miami. I got my start at WVUM (see them below in my friends), the college radio station at the University of Miami. I'm still interested in media of all types, how people use it, and how it affects their belief systems, if that makes sense.
I'm always open to hearing your show ideas or requests, so please feel free to shoot them my way. Thanks!
