KJ Ferguson is a prime example that you can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy. Born in Alabama, KJ was raised on the music of Hank Williams Sr., Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and other outlaws of country music. Although nobody in his family played an instrument, KJ found solace in music. Considered the least talented singer in his family, KJ learned how to play the guitar, providing him a foundation in music. KJ Ferguson may be a traditional-minded singer but has produced music with a contemporary edge. Ferguson is an expressive vocalist while also showing off his songwriting skills on two of the tracks.KJ was 27 years old when he move from his home town in Coal City, Alabama and made his home in San Antonio, Texas. He then began to work overseas as a law enforcement/security contractor, working with explosive and narcotic detection dogs. During his off time, KJ would play live with other talented musicians for almost any gathering or special occasions. KJ decided to get serious about music. By way of a mutual friend, KJ was introduced to Jerry Bridges, formally lead guitarist and record producer for the legendary Waylon Jennings for 22 years. In 2005, KJ and Jerry teamed up to begin K.J.’s first project. Now, two years later, the CD (That’s Just Me) is complete. This is ONE to follow. That’s Just Me, on Night Town Records, debuts this fall, August 2007. KJ has been working in Iraq for the last year and a half.
