About Me

Swing, charme and ukulele - MusiComedy at it's best!
Swing is in again
...in fact, swing has never been out at least not for Daniela, Kalliopi and Kristina, three young singers from Hamburg, Germany, who joined their talents in 2003 to form the vocal swing group "The SwingChix"
The name is programmatic, and in their arrangements you will find reference to the legendary Andrews Sisters and other outstanding vocalists much as you will be carried away by their swinging interpretations of yesterday's and today's top hits such as "Kiss", "Sex Bomb", "Highway To Hell" or "Hot Stuff". Hot stuff it is indeed what they offer in their original compositions, and please wait until you have heard the SwingChix play the Ukulele to agree that this little instrument can perfectly fit into a swinging environment if fingered so skilfully as the Chix do.
Past years have shown that the formation of the trio came at the right time. In the recent three years the group has come under increasing demand not only in their home town Hamburg and in Germany but also in neighbouring European countries. Radio and TV have surely contributed the promotion of the trio, and a lot of of all success has been boosted by their on-stage performance as the ladies-band in the play Sugar (the musical version of "Some Like It Hot") with which they toured Germany, Switzerland and Austria in 2003 and 2004.
Kristina Kruttke:
Not by coincidence is Kristinas place on stage between her two colleagues - she does the middle pitches. Before she applied herself to the ukulele she graduated in classical singing and acting. She enriched multiple bands, musical productions, music videos and stage plays with her fine jazz-tone and expressive interpretations. But the talents of the mezzosoprano are not only limited to her vocalchords. With her brisky facial expression and amusing way of talking Kristina regularly holds up rehearsals and raises a laugh in the audience.
Kalliopi Lazou:
Kalliopi Lazou was born a child of greek parents in Hamburg and discovered her world singing. After graduating in classical singing and acting she performed with chamber orchestras, on several musical and theater stages and ended up as daily news-moderator on German television. The listener shouldn't let himself be fooled by the fact, that the soprano is responsible for the high notes in this ladies-trio. With a moustache on her upper lip Kalliopi and Luciano Pavarotti only differ in bodyweight A romantic drama queen on stage but the calming influence in real life.
Daniela Bruszies:
Born near Hamburg Daniela Bruszies completed a singing education and found her musical luck in western fields. With a Yeeha! on her lips she turned every boring dance into a wild rodeo. Her proficiency goes way beyond the usual Line Dance accompaniement. She handles all pitches and feels home in a variety of musical genres. Being the lead-singer of several showbands she toured around Germany for 15 years bringing good vibes to the partyscene. Feeling comfortable on musical stages as well as in recording studios the mezzosoprano is responsible for the low tunes and for any technical request. She also guards with severe discipline that beer is only beeing served after the show...
