Rok-It Recordings is one of those House music labels that combines solid production work, remarkable sound quality and a defining sound that never grows stale. Rising from the ground of New York City, Rok-It has been making moves to bring the freshest music to your ears. Rok-It Recordings was created in the winter of 2005 with the teamwork of Sir Garrett and DJ Tomer. The label fuels its passion for music with an unmatched love for the underground music scene which surrounds them.
You may know Tomer from productions like Drum Pressure & And now you left me on (Tweekd), Let Me Fix This (White Label), and his work on the Twisted Box EP (Vol1). Tomer has releases out and coming out on , Chameleon, Pure, Dbx, Bimotor, Fatal, Escuro, Lajja, and J records(sony bmg)
Sir Garrett first received his production start with his release on Oval Records in 2002 with his "Vivacious/Midian" 12 release which was in heavy rotation by DJs such as Tom Stephan, Sander Kleinenberg to name just a few. Also on Oval from Sir Garrett and Phillip Charles was their rendition of Corbett’s underground House classic "Music is Magic". Dot Matrix then teamed up with the spectacular vocalist/dj/producer Craig Mitchell on Another World (Lajja) and Lost Kiss (En-Soul).
Dot Matrix had their first release on Lajja recordings, titled "Another World"(Twisted and Wavetech records), with Craig Mitchell on vocal duty. This was the first time Dot Matrix had teamed up with Mr. Mitchell. The flipside for this single came from Lajjas own label bosses, Fauvrelle and Maurel. The duo has had releases on Amplitude, Chameleon, Lajja, Escuro, En-Soul, Fatal, Universal, BMG and now Rok-It Recordings.
Tomer and Sir Garrett are building a strong foundation in which to build their label on. Each release will be featured on Beatport, I-Tunes, and many more digital download sites. From deep tribal rhythms, synthetic percussion and volume demanding bass lines, youll know it when you hear a Rok-It track.
