About Me

Creamer & K: Notes From Underground
Fixtures on the House scene since the late 90s, John Creamer and Stephane K have produced some of the genres most influential songs and remixes. Children of Junior Vasquez’'s original Sound Factory, the duos early breakthrough releases linked the classic sounds of New York house to the grittier side of hip hop, experimental electronica and the subnarcotic soundscapes of Jamaican dub and roots music.
Remixes of Kosheen’'s '‘Hide U'’, iio'’s '“Rapture'” and Satoshi Tomie'’s '“Love In Traffic'” brought the Creamer & K sound to a global audience, but original productions “'Forget the World'” and “'I Wish You Were Here”' secured their place in the ever evolving history of House music. Both songs, now veritable classics, are defining examples of why their music has long been a favorite of pioneering DJs Danny Tenaglia, Roger Sanchez and DJ Vibe: propulsive, intricate, rhythms; a masterful sense of dynamics; and an understated lyricism that transcends the dancefloor.
Their productions earned them Remix Magazine'’s ‘Remixer of the Year’ award in 2002 and a coveted spotlight on John Digweed’'s Bedrock label with their genre defying album ‘'Bedrock 4: Mixed and Compiled by John Creamer & Stephane K'’. With a nod to “'beer, pussy and Xanax'” in its liner notes, Bedrock 4 was a guttersnipe, punk, assault on the house music establishment and made Creamer & K two of the most sought after remixers in electronic music.
By taking the genre into darker territory, the music press were quick to label the Creamer & K sound everything from “'drug house'” to '“progressive house'”, but before any of those labels could stick John and Stephane were looking toward the future. A string of stellar remixes followed (New Order, Sinead O’Connor and Yoko Ono among them) appearing on labels as diverse as Azuli, Kaos and Mute, with the duo taking their music live to club goers from Japan to Egypt and all points in between.
Ushering in 2007 with the relaunch of their label NY Love, an outlet for original productions, exclusive remixes and collaborations, fans of their work can expect several new chapters in a storied and already legendary career.
