I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a writer who spends his writing about movies, TV and videogames for such esteemed publications as SFX , Official Playstation Magazine and Edge .
I also work for a company called Wag TV , writing pitches and coming up with ideas for documentaries to be shown on the BBC, Channel 4, The Discovery Channel and the National Geographic Channel. Some of my ideas have not been entirely shit either, although sadly there was little interest from the commissioning peeps for my expose on tiny Guide Horses.
Previously, I was at ITV; I worked (in an editing and writing capacity) on 51 eps of a weakly (that's not a typo) videogames show called Cybernet back in the day, before a year long stint as a games designer on the AMAZING Quizmania, which used to be on ITV1 every day of the week between one-ish and 4-ish (That's AM, insomnia fans).
Before that I made a Sci-Fi movie about a Car Park controlled by flowers.
Spend my time staring into space and coming up with silly dreams. I subscribe to the Lottery life system, which basically consists of waiting for something amazing to drop in my lap and change every aspect of my life in one fell swoop.
I like: Unfeasably huge robots, meeting wicked people, eating sweets, corruption, running around in circles, being naughty, cartoons, finding out secrets and singing my fucking heart out.
I hate: massive wankers...

My Interests

Film, Music, Writing, Performing, the strange, the unusual and the fucked up. Oh, and Kareoke.

I'd like to meet:

You. You're cool. Send me a message and I'll add you as a friend (I'm not that discerning). I'll even write you something back. It might not be profound, it might not be funny, but it'll have heart and possibly a swear word. You won't regret it either, cos I'm ace.

Music:

Janes Addiction, The Shins, Punkiness, The Moog Strikes Bach, Pulp, Rawk, Queens of the Stone Age, Kaiser Chiefs, Hip Hop, White Zombie, Arctic Monkeys, The Coral, Mos Def, Killing Joke, Pixies, Bob Log III, Early-mid 90's indie stuff, Psychedelia, Supercar, Prog nonsense, Blur, Mars Volta, and ooh, a billion other things. Anything you can jump around to, fall asleep to or break into tiny pieces.

Movies:

I'm a terminal movie junkie. Some stuff I like: Badlands, Shortbus, Hot Fuzz, Children Of Men, Stranger Than Fiction, Little Miss Sunshine, 300, The Beat That My Heart Skipped, Serenity, Head, Tron, My Sassy Girl, La Haine, Oldboy, Murderball, Team America, Coen Brothers, Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead, Martin, The Warriors, Casshern, Happiness of the Katakuris, Star Wars, Fight Club, Requiem for a Dream, Bubba Ho-Tep, Evil Dead II, Vertigo, North by Northwest, Buffalo 66, Pink Flamingos, Spinal Tap, Audition. Pretty much anything that's wicked, culty, Japanese, or features huuuuuge 'splosions in fact. Or people eating sammidges.

Television:

Monty Python, Spaced, Heroes, Life On Mars, Entourage, Buffy, Angel, Veronica Mars, Peep Show, Battlestar, and I really like documentaries about interesting things like robots, idiots and people who rise up against impossible odds. I love people who do incredible things.

Books:

I fucking love books. Fave authors are probably John Stienbeck and John Irving. although I will, if pushed, read books by people not called John. Some stuff I like: Prayer For Owen Meany, Man Who Was Thursday, Carter Beats the Devil, Death in the Afternoon, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Coraline, Invisible Monsters, The Once and Future King.

Heroes:

Bill Hicks and my dad.
