Although it might seem as though Taboo came out of nowhere to put his stamp on the Canadian urban landscape, the Jamaican born, T-dot raised personality has spent the last ten years paying his dues. After leaving home to study Communications at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Taboo helped to build Komposit Entertainment; a company established on the principle of bridging cultural gaps between all ethnicities and communities through music. He quickly became known as the city's premier party rockin' DJ and MC as well as a trend setting promoter, working with a wide array of organizations conceiving and executing large scale events while managing to consistently appeal to a diverse clientele. It was during this period of time, through various guest spots on the UofM campus radio station WCBN, that Taboo got his first taste of being "on-air" and was instantly "bit by the bug." After leaving Michigan he took his show on the road again, this time landing on south beach where he promoted and hosted numerous events at miami's hottest nightclubs including amnesia, level, liquid, and vivid while applying his urban marketing expertise for the likes of Enyce, Akademiks and Levi's. But having never been able to duplicate the vibe and diversity of the world's greatest city, "The Tastemaker" returned home with a single goal in mind: total domination of the T-dot airwaves. Having honed his skills as the nightly host of after hours community radio programming while still making a habit of working club goers into a frenzy (usually alongside '05 UMAC Award nominee DJ Ritz), Taboo now makes his home at Toronto's Hip Hop and R&B, Wednesday nights from 11pm-1am.
