Molding Men (MM) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization formed in 2004 to promote the sport of wrestling and for the purpose of providing Tulsa, Oklahoma youth, with summer employment and educational experiences that build on their individual strengths and incorporate youth development principles. These principles include engaging the talents and interests of youth, developing their skills and competencies, and providing positive adult role models. Molding Men also runs Pin King Youth Wrestling Club, which is a revolutionary Wrestling Club serving over 30 athletes mainly from the North Side of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pin King is a not-for-profit community organization, serving athletes from as young as four years of age to 15 years of age. We are affiliated with USA Wrestling. The team was first established in 1995 with the philosophy of providing positive encouragement to our athletes, ensuring them a constructive and uplifting experience. We hope to produce moral, upstanding citizens through discipline and support so our athletes become leaders, role models, and mentors throughout society. Our goal is centered on nurturing the best wrestlers in the nation.
It gives me a great pleasure to announce that Pin King has held many State and National team titles in the past. In the last nine years the children have won twenty-five individuals state titles, seven individual National titles, two state team titles along with four regional titles. In 2001, the children won 1st place at the most prestigious youth wrestling tournament in the United States, the “Tulsa National Championships, which was represented by forty-seven states. We see this as a tremendous beginning. We hope to guide our current athletes and young champions of tomorrow throughout their wrestling careers. This year Pin King Youth Wrestling will complete a full season of wrestling including Folkstyle, Freestyle, Greco Roman, and the new International sport of Beach Wrestling. Our objective here is to introduce our youth to the best regional, National and International competitions to give our youth the exposure necessary to become the champions that Oklahomans’ are accustomed to, World Champions. Since the beginning of times on all continents,traditional forms of wrestling are practiced on earth,sand, sawdust, etc. These forms of wrestling with simplerules today still captivate a large public. Traditionalwrestling, practiced for thousands of years in Africa, hasevolved into a modern sports phenomenon. The sport isnationally televised, and important matches can fill a60,000-seat stadium. The FILA Bureau has therefore decidedto codify a form of wrestling that can be practicedeverywhere, without any technical means, which takeselements from these traditional wrestling forms and whichis called "Beach wrestling".
