I wanna be your art department

About Me

I am a freelance graphic artist located in Minneapolis MN. I have had a lifelong interest in art, photography, and music.
I started out with [and still do] drawings, paintings and illustrating. I never really focused to heavily on web and computer stuff until about 2 years ago while working behind a desk for one of america's many corporate retail giants. I was bored out of my mind and in desperate need of creative venting, the computer was in front of my face all day so I taught myself web scripting and toyed around with some graphics programs in my cubicle when no one was looking.
I started with making a few fansites for some musical interests that I had, and as lame as a fansites are, it was still very rewarding because fansites get a lot of traffic real fast and I was able to obtain a lot of feedback from people which helped me grow my "web chops" per se.
I am now [when I have time] attending the Art Institute here in Minneapolis.
Music is where I find my serenity in this crazy, out of control world. Nothing is better than cranking up a good tune, and falling into the atmosphere it creates. It's absolutely wonderful.
So, it is only natural for me to conjoin my love for music and art and create art for music.

My Interests

music, drawing, painting, playing softball, laughing at stuff, reading The Onion, watching Headlines on Leno, making abstract artistic statements with the grub I order at restaurants, enjoying a nice cold bottle of coca-cola (the little glass ones), a triple shot mocha from Caribou, everything chocolate, anything involving a cat and scotch tape or a laser pen, doggies, live music in little places, long drives by myself, being there to help someone who needs it, hangin with my family and my friends, and bouncing super balls in the kitchen and watching it bounce of a gazillion things and then rolling underneath the stove to be lost for all eternity.

I'd like to meet:

In about 100 years... Jesus

Music:

Anything good but I like the sounds of Death Cab, STP, Aerosmith, The Violent Femmes, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, Beck, Radiohead, Weezer, The Beatles, Nirvana, Scott Weilands solo works and a whole lotta indie stuff. I like songs with a good melody and well written lyrics. I totally stress the well written lyrics thing. That's so HUGE.

Movies:

Blow, Man on the Moon, Second Hand Lions, The Shining (the first one), Alice in Wonderland (the disney one), The Devil Wears Prada, Napoleon Dynamite, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, Drop Dead Fred, and Old School.
-----
I hate the fucking movie Fargo and Lolita has scarred me for life.

Television:

Cartoons. The smurfs rock. Mad TV, SNL, and Conan. Cheers and All in the Family. The Office.

Books:

Whenever you read a good book, it's like the author is right there, in the room talking to you, which is why I don't like to read good books.

Heroes:

Are you serious? I guess anybody who can indefinately remove Coldplay, Nickelback, John Mayer, and Bare Naked Ladies from the radio successfully. please. Anyone? I might even pay you.
