After serving as Assistant to Bishop Marvin L. Winans for more than a decade in Detroit's Perfecting Church, Pastor Donnie McClurkin was ordained and sent out as Pastor of Perfecting Faith Church in May 2001. He accepted Jesus as Savior on July 14th, 1969 at the age of nine, and was gifted by God with musical talent that would later be used to minister to the world. With musical mentors such as Andrae Crouch and others, the ministry of music was imparted. Overcoming childhood rape, molestation and sexual ambiguity by the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, the strong anointing and the call to ministry were apparent. This ministry call led him as a teen to street evangelism as well as into prisons with a burden for the lost. Today, Pastor McClurkin's evangelistic approach and appeal, along with his passion to worship God and minister to people, has transferred to the Perfecting Faith body, causing it to be a church focused on winning the "unchurched." His dynamic, impassioned, and often humorous delivery of the gospel of Jesus Christ brings the hearer to a greater awareness of God and His purpose for their lives. As he ministers at some of the world's greatest gatherings such as Benny Hinn Crusades, Bishop T.D. Jakes Ministry events, Rod Parsley Dominion Camp meetings, and on the Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN), Pastor McClurkin's message is clear: "I want to introduce Jesus Christ to the world, not as a religious leader or an icon, but as an intimate friend who wants to radically change our lives for the better".As a Singer, Pastor McClurkin has won countless Awards and Grammies(Stella, Dove, etc.) But he wouldn't want your attention to be directed towards the countless blessings, but towards He who gives the blessings, namely God. He is well known for such songs like "STAND" which encourage the listener to become like that tree planted by the rivers of water; when you have done all that you can; "STAND" and let God do what we cannot!! "We Fall Down"; the message in this song is not about the fall, but about God's Grace and Mercy, that is available to pick us back up; The underline message that we can get out of this song is how badly we need to pray for one another, especially for those who labor in the Gospel. With all these things that Pastor McClurkin has going on, somehow he remains humble; how you might ask? well Pastor McClurkin will be the first to tell you that it is not by his power, nor by his might; but it is only by the Spirit of God!. Name; we realize that if You had not breathed into our
nostrils, we would have been, just a outline draw in
the sand; in that breath You provided everything that
was needed to give us life; You could have made us in
any image that You wanted to, but You chose to make us
in Your Holy image and after Your Holy likeness; Our
goal Heavenly Father, is to become the people of Your
purpose; the people to establish Your Kingdom on earth
as it is in Heaven; Forever grateful are we to You, for
giving us the chance to learn of You; Thank You for
giving us the opportunity, through Jesus, to
re-establish the relationship, that You started with
our parents(Adam and Eve) in the Garden of Eden; Thank You Jesus for
being a willing sacrifice; we owe You our lives; and
our lives we do give over to You; Now unto You, Heavenly Father, do we bring, in Jesus Name, our
prayers and supplications, for our brethren, Pastor Donnie
McClurkin; Grateful we are Father, for Your
lovingkindness and tender mercies, that overshadows
the life of Thy servant; You know his heart Father and You know that his
number one desire, is to please You; You have done so much for him already and no doubt he is
eternally grateful for all and everything; surely he does not
want to stumble or fall; but to be found walking upright
and living righteous before You; to be found upholding
Your Truth that endures forever; surely he needs You, to keep him in the scope of Your eye; to help him to stay on the right path for Your name sake; to make him aware if pride is inching to close to his heart; he is going to continue to need Your help, Father God, to purify the thoughts that enters his
mind; for he understands, that without Your help, he does not stand a fighting chance; but with Your help, he can do all things, and weather every storm; and climb every mountain; Continue, we pray of Thee, to aide him in
living a Holy and healthy life; give ear, we pray of
Thee, unto the cries of Thy servants heart; and grant
unto him, in Jesus Name, those desires that plagues
his soul; keep, we pray of Thee Father, Your Holy Angels
encamped round about him, his family
members, and all those who are near and dear to his
heart; we believe and decree, that Pastor McClurkin, will continue to press toward the mark of his high calling that is found in Christ Jesus; he is now and will continue to be, more than a conquer; Bless continue to be, all that he put forth his heart to do; open will doors continue to do, when he knock upon them; continue will all weapons that is formed against him fail; for we know that his going out and his coming in is ordered by You, Lord God; as the blood of Jesus that covers his life, do bare witness of; we know Father, that if You refrain from blessing Pastor McClurkin, with anymore, Awards, Grammies and fame; he will still continue to give Your name all the Praise and Honor; for he loves You not for the fishes and the loaves; so Father, in Your hearing, leave we this prayer, by Faith and in Jesus' name, Amen!!!
