Answering the call

About Me

..

Oral Pusey is popularly known and calls by his stage name Alleluia Boy. This young man was born and grew up in Jamaica in a not so small ghetto community close to the town of Morant Bay in the parish of ST Thomas, he is the seventh of eight children born to his mom and the third of four to his dad. Oral Alleluia Boy Pusey (the full name that is also use by some to introduce him to a few platforms) has been singing from a very young age and is now mature into an all rounder in Gospel Music; he is a singer, DJ, sing J, songwriter and a young musician who really loves to play the acoustic steel string guitar. His Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ confronted Oral in the year 1999 while he was on his way to a formal audition at one of the outstanding popular studios namely Jammys in the community of Water House in Kingston Jamaica. Oral had migrated to Kingston after he was encouraged by his mom to leave St Thomas and go to Kingston in pursuit of his dream as a DJ. His mom who is a firm Christian was never in agreement with the life stile Oral had started living since the very day he had turned his back on the Church and had backslidden from the Christian path way that his parent grew him in, but because of the constant fights and gang wars that Oral was always involved in, his mom thought it wise to encourage him to leave the parish to go after a career she never really wanted for him, and it was in this pursuit that the Lord first openly speak to Oral. Though Oral loves to read the Holy Bible and talk to God in prayer he had never heard God spoken back to him in the way humans does to each other as friends with friends, but that was about to change! While Oral was on his way from Rollington Town where he lived in Kingston at the time, seated in the back of one of those small minibus, Oral new it was the right time to whispered another prayer to the Lord, so he slightly bowed his head and started begging God to help him past the audition that he was now going to for the second time. The first time Oral did the audition, the beautiful young lady that was overseeing the Audition found out something about Oral that most people listening to Him would not have known; she found out that he Had list tongue, but because she loved his lyrics and the melody of his song she gave him two weeks to work at his problem of clarity and to return to the next audition; the same one he is on his way to while praying. And so with his head slightly bowed talking to God, to Oral’s amazement he heard a strong and powerful voice speaking in him but yet the voice sounding not only in him but also all around him as if he was in the middle of this voice, which spoke to him in his own language and familiar voice, which though familiar he could not identify it with anyone he knew; but the voice identified it self by asking Oral this question, “how you want me to help you past the audition and is not me you going to sing for”, while Oral was pondering this question he open his eyes held up his head looking to see if any one heard and knew what was happening, but every one in the minibus was minding their own businesses, while the voice repeatedly ask the question about three times and each time with more emphasis. All the way to the studio that day Oral thought on the question that he knew without a doubt that it was God who spoke to him asking him the question. Two persons and a duet group past the audition and Oral who was one of them that past was the last to be called by the same young lady that conducted the audition the first time. While he walked towards her, her hand hanged with one of their business cards as she looked at him in away that would suggest that she was probably halting between two opinion as to whether or not to allow him the past and give him the card or it could be that she was a bit disappointed because he did not song the song she fell in love with the first time she auditioned him, nevertheless while reaching just in front of her before she could say a word Oral closes his eyes and whispered a final prayer for God to help him past this audition. Yes! Oral past the audition and was in the line for his big break in Reggae dance hall, but Oral could not have gone on because of the profound question that he knew for sure was ask him by God, hardly a day go by in which Oral wouldn’t have seriously thought about the question and what took place with him in the minibus that morning. Therefore after serious pondering on the matter and a long series of hours upon hours of daily Bible studies Oral decided that it was time, and so he started telling the people that were closest to him his decision to give his heart to the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. It was not a surprise that a lot of whom he had told became angry at him saying that: along time him a pray for God to help him and now God help him and him past the audition and him ago bus, a now him a bout him a go a church go praise God, some of those people even laugh at him mocking him especially when he cut of his tall hair and throw away his earrings, and also because they knew the type of person he was, they started giving him two weeks and three weeks even a month time period to ran back out of church, but this time was never to be as the first and Oral was never to be deterred by any obstacle. Oral had move back to ST Thomas at the ending of 1999, and early in the year 2000 he was received back in his home church and has been living an honest God fairing life. He remembered and have accepted the prophetic name “Alleluia Boy” that was revealed to him about three to four years prior to his reconciliation. He has answered the calling upon his life and as a result for all these years since his reconciliation he has been traveling through out Jamaica where ever he is called, to either teach by exhortation or upbraiding the people with the songs God has given him to tell of God’s word. He has also traveled out side of Jamaica doing this same ministry before he even have a single out, and he is willing to go where ever his calling will take him to do the will of God. All of this has now lead to Oral putting out his first two singles, in which, out of the many, many songs God has given him, he really believes that these two songs: 1 Christ in the vessel and: 2 With It, are the songs God has ordained for him to make his entry as a Gospel Recording Artist throughout the world. In his first song (Christ in the vessel) the writer went on to describe the obstacles and those hard times that Christians faces in their every day life as a storm. He uses words such as: bellows, tempest, and waves of death etc to bring across his massage. The writer really believes that in the same way it is important to win other souls to Christ, it is just as equally important to ensure that those souls that are already in the fold remains steadfast in Jesus, and so this song is for every one that believes in God, but the writer addresses it specially to Christians that are living for Jesus Christ, that from time to time needs a little encouragement as a reminder to be still and see the salvation of the Lord who is mindful of our every needs. When you listen this song it will bless your soul, you will also remember the story of Jesus when He was asleep in the boat when the storm rises and the disciples were very afraid but Jesus awaked up and rebuked the storm. His second song (With It) is different from the first song, because the situation is that of a different nature. The writer in this song in a similar way as the Book of Jude does, warns against false prophet. He calls for us as Christians to take a stand, not just a stand still stand but an action stand to be watchful and vigilant against pretenders and all those that are false those crept in unaware that is trying earnestly to pervert the true gospel of Jesus Christ. This song is also more hard-core in nature than the first song and Alleluia Boy really presented it in that form. Alleluia Boy will refer to the more softer gospel songs on any Reggae tracks as: Gospel Reggae or Reggae Gospel, but he does not think it is fitting to call the more hard-core Gospel, names such as: dancehall gospel nor gospel dance hall. Alleluia Boy believes that since the lyrical contents is different and the massages are different, which makes the aim or the objectives different that causes the meaning to be different, then the name should also be different. Alleluia Boy chooses to refer or call the much more harder side of Gospel Reggae, “Gospel Hall” or “Reggae Gospel Hall” the names that he thinks is defiantly much more appropriate, and this name is also mentioned in the entry of his second song. Oral Pusey, Oral Alleluia Boy Pusey, Alleluia Boy hopes that his songs will be and or brings both Physical and Spiritual blessings to your life and that as you full joy listening to them you will also want to see him minister live in what ever country it is that you resides. Now if you are blessed by these songs, which am sure you will, then you don’t have to worry there are many, many more where these two came from, God Bless
