Hit me with music...

About Me

"One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain...so hit me with music..." -Bob Marley (Trenchtown Rock)............ Ever heard a symphony on the beach? The waves playing percussion, the breeze droning a gentle string section, the seagulls adding some flute solos, and a polyphony of peaceful laughter from passerby? A part of me admits the cheesiness of my above statement but this is my life, baby! Music is in everything if you let yourself hear it sing.

Influences: My all time favorite is Turkish singer Tarkan!!! Also love Bob Marley, and in the pop world Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams. I listen to a lot of Indian stuff too...favorite songs to name a few are Aaja Piya, Aap Ki Nazron Ne Samjha, remixed, also Sun Zara. Also listening to the Jhoom soundtrack like crazy. Anyone see Abhishek on IIFA, ooooh! ............................................................ ............................................................ ...........Other influences include Delerium, Enigma, Dead Can Dance, Amethystium, Air, Bjork (she's the queen), Portishead, Buddha Bar/Lounge, Cafe Del Mar, Depeche Mode ("Home" is a most played on my ipod) , Thievery Corp., Blue Six (I'm loving "Aquarian Angel" passionately right now), etc, as well as more mainstream (but amazing) artists like Sarah McLachlan, Josh Groban, and yes, Yanni!!! ............................................................ ............................................................ .............Classically speaking, Mozart, Beethoven, and Handel are at the top of the list, but I love to sing and listen to the chansons of Faure and the lieder of both Robert and Clara Schumann, (ok Schubert rocks too) ............................................................ ............................................................ ...............I love so many of these myspace artists too! Pretty much any song that moves me or speaks to me in any genre is an influence, and I really do love all styles of music. For example, there are days when I just have to scream along to "Killing in the Name of." I also find inspiration and influence in people, nature, the sun, sunsets, seasons, the ocean, and travelling the world.
