* * * * * * * * Ode is an independent magazine about the people and ideas that are changing the world. Sometimes it’s difficult to see beyond the war, poverty, exploitation and pollution that the mainstream media use to fill our view of the world. But there is more to life. There are other stories to report. Stories of countless initiatives being launched around the globe by people devoted to justice, respect and equality. Have a look. odemagazine.com

ABOUT TLOD

Born and bred in the East Midlands of England, Deborah later moved to London to pursue a career in the sciences. Deep down she knew this was not the path she was destined to travel. Interested in what the rest of the world had to offer she and her faithful guitar, Jerry, took off to find out and never returned. Deborah says that she always wanted to live a life of music, but there was no encouragement. "It seemed at the time that financial security was the desired way of life and I believed it." This all changed as the scenery did and being on the road made her realise that music was the way to go. Specifically when she met her future husband, Nick, in Vancouver. "This is all his fault." As well as a singer-songwriter Deborah also composes for film and tv ranging from orchestral scores to electronica. Please go to myspace.com/musicbydeborah to listen. Last summer she worked with DC Lessoway scoring his feature "Abridge". Go to his page for the trailer myspace.com/abridgemovie Craig McKenzie, a superb muso from New Zealand, has done a wicked job co-producing "Forever".
