About Me

I have been around music my whole life. My father jazz pianist Donald brown exposed me to a variety of music from a young age from Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway to Herbie Hancock and Oscar Peterson. I've been playing the piano since about age 8 but just started taking it serous about five years ago. Since then I've been playing locally around the Knoxville area in a variety of different bands from Pop, Neo-Soul, R&B and Jazz. I played the electric bass in the hip-hop/neo-soul band the spades band(whats up yall), bass and keyboards with Sean Stewart and Mocha Vibe, the Kaley Burton Band, and various different bands with my pops. My band opened up for Racheal Z in 2004, and recently was invited to play in the Clermont Jazz fesival in France. In 2006 I opened a solo piano concert for Bobby Lyle and Geoff Keezer at the Knoxville Jazz Festival. In 2007 My trio performed at the Jazz En Tete festival in Clermont France. I also played with the Bill Mobley Orchestra were I shared the stage with Billy Pierce, Warren Wolf Jr., Bill Mobley, and Ali Jackson(drummer for the Lincoln Center). I also played at the Knoxville jazz Festival with Legendary Drummer Mike Clark were I shared the stage with Essiet Essiet, Bill Mobley, and Jeff Coffin. I have also studied classical music off and on for a number of years. Though I've mostly been writing jazz music I love playing all types of music and try to draw from all areas of the music I've been exposed to.
