Kelle Jolly-vocalist
Kelle (Kelle) Jolly has performed a variety of venues over several years, singing contemporary and traditional jazz, modern and old-school rhythms, as well as seriously classical music. Kelle's voice spans a melodic range from sultry deep alto, to lyrically operatic soprano.
Kelle's music career began as early as high school where she performed as part of a jazz ensemble. Her initial intent was to deftly work the upright bass, but alas, as she plucked the strings, the notes tempted her vocal cords, moving Kelle to need to sing. And sing she did! After five years with the jazz band, she earned the Billy Holiday Award. That was 1996 and Kelle was the first recipient of this coveted honor. It was thereafter, considered a revered trophy inspiring future talented soloists.
While pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree from South Carolina State University in Music Education, Kelle's primary concentration was Voice. Throughout her college years, Kelle toured the southeastern United States with their jazz ensemble. This experience provided important facets of her lifelong desires and the ability to role model for young people who aspired to follow her lead. As an ambassador promoting the music she still loves, Kelle was for three years named Vocalist of the Year and was inducted into the SCSU Jazz Hall of Fame in 2000.
A native of Atlanta GA, Kelle presently resides in southeast Tennessee.Visit my store
