About Me

Just a simple guy who enjoys the simplest things in life; I'm in the Music/Recording/Entertainment Industry...ok, fullstop:)It has been a great pleasure to have worked with and/or known-at a professional/personal level-the following talented and gifted Performers/Recording Artists/Producers: VARGO (Germany), WEATHER GIRLS (USA/Germany), YUKI YAMAUCHI (Japan), THOMAS BARSOE (Denmark), JEANETTE ALEXANDER (USA), MASSIMO FARAO+LORENZO CONTE+BOBBY DURHAM (Italy/USA), JENNIFER PARSIGNAULT (USA), ADANI & WOLF (Netherlands), STEVE SMITH & ANTHONY ANDERSON of Shred Records/SA Trackworks/BananaToons (Canada)... and the long list goes on. For all the messages that have not been replied to... SORRY:( I will reply them as soon as I get a chance: SLOWLY-BUT-DEFINITELY-SURELY:)For those SPAMMERS (of whatever kind) out there... STOP!Kamal has been in the music/entertainment industry for more than fifteen years. His formative years were spent honing his craft on the decks, in the early 90s, in Singapore, at venues such as TGIF, Xanadu, Top Ten, Tornado, just to name a few. Backed with determination and motivation - to create a difference, Kamal left Singapore in 1993 to work as Club DJ/Entertainment Manager in Beijing, China - at The Cyclone (Holiday Inn Lido), and at Pharaohs (Seoul Hilton, and yes... those countless of underground party gigs too), from 1996 to 1999 in Seoul, Korea, where he also simultaneously assumed the role as Music Consultant at Ivy Music. In late 1999, Kamal was back in Singapore for a break, which led him to working at HMV as Radio DJ; in 2003, HMV revamped their station from “Live” to that of a pre-recorded/ computerized system, and as Programmes Manager/DJ, Kamal was the integral force behind the brand new HMV Radio – voice overs, production of trailers, stingers, capsules to promo mixes, were the main menu of the day. In 2004, Kamal decided to spread his wings to higher grounds by joining the Record Label industry. As A&R at (independent regional record label) St Music World, he initiated the launch of the parent company’s sub-label - 37 Recordings - releasing Lounge and Electronic albums such as (the selected Asian-territory release of) Vargo’s debut album (of the famed Cafe Del Mar series), Rewind The Latin Session, Weather Girls, (few of the) Platinum Collection series and many more while simultaneously managing the Sales, Marketing and Distribution Departments – for the sub label. In October 2005/06, Kamal also worked (on a freelance basis) at Radio 91.3 FM and UFM 100.3 - in the Commercial Production Unit – Audio Designs, and prior to this lent his voice to some TVCs; emceed various events including HBO’s Sex & The City Launch, Amex Road Shows and many more, plus...a two-month opening stint followed suit, on the decks again, spinning cool Fusion, Jazz & Funk at Harry’s Music Bar, Orchard Road, before joining G-Pop GmbH which provides products and marketing strategies to regional independent/major record labels, as Label Executive/A&R to assist in Marketing and Artist/ DJ Bookings. Currently, Kamal is an independent A&R/Strategic Marketing for (selected) record label/s; VO Talent/Audio Designs (for Radio and Non-Traditional works); DJ (for Clubs); Emcee/Show-Host (for Eventainment).
