The italian band (from Milan) was born in February 2006 from an idea of Nico, the singer and the songwriter, who decided together with Matt, one of the guitarists, to set up a rock project. The first one to be taken on, was the drummer, Mirko, with whom they had already played in the past in another band (it has a demo to its credit, recorded in 2004). Then Cigo (bass) joined the group; he is Nico' s friend. At this point, Explain needed another guitarist and, after trying some people, Marco joined the group. In November 2006 the band recorded a demo with Rea Dainotti at Tsunami Studio, in Milan. In June 2007 Explain arrived to the national final of international rock-contest "Emergenza", performing on the famous Alcatraz stage in Milan (where many well known groups as Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age, Slipknot, Editors have played). In the summer of 2007 the collaboration between Mirko and the band finished by mutual agreement. In October of the same year, Explain recorded a semi-acoustic version of an old song of their, "Without", with Davide Violante and Crile. In March 2008 the band recorded their new promo, called "Without Any Certainty", in Massive Arts Studios in Milan, with Paolo Tixi at the drums. The songs have been recorded and mixed by David Moriconi and they’ve been mastered by Alberto Cutolo.The average age of the group is about 23. The Explain music is approximately defined as melodic rock with lyrics in english.

La band milanese nasce nel gennaio del 2006 da un’idea di Nico, il cantante e il compositore del gruppo, che decide con Matt, uno dei due chitarristi, di dar vita ad un progetto rock. Il primo ad essere reclutato è Mirko (batterista), con il quale i due hanno già suonato in passato in un’altra formazione (con all’attivo un demo inciso nel 2004). Dopodiché si aggiunge Cigo (bassista), amico di Nico. A questo punto gli Explain sentono la necessità di un altro chitarrista e, dopo averne provato qualcuno, Marco fa il suo ingresso nella formazione. Nel novembre del 2006 incidono un demo con Rea Dainotti presso lo Tsunami Studio, a Milano. Dopo il demo inizia un’intensa attività dal vivo, tra cui la partecipazione al concorso internazionale "Emergenza", nel quale arrivano fino alla finale nazionale, esibendosi sul prestigioso palco principale dell'Alcatraz di Milano (che ha ospitato, tra i moltissimi, gruppi del calibro di Oasis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age, Editors, Slipknot...). Nell'estate del 2007 la collaborazione tra il gruppo e Mirko, finisce di comune accordo. Ad ottobre dello stesso anno registrano una versione semi acustica di un loro vecchio brano, "Without", con Davide Violante e Crile. A marzo del 2008 incidono il loro nuovo promo, intitolato "Without Any Certainty", nei Massive Arts Studios di Milano, con Paolo Tixi alla batteria. Il lavoro è registrato e mixato da David Moriconi e masterizzato da Alberto Cutolo.L’età media della band si aggira attorno ai 23 anni. La musica degli Explain viene indicativamente definita come rock melodico cantato in inglese.
