YAK

Chi ama il metal che gioca sulla difensiva - quello arroccato su posizioni vecchie come il riff di Paranoid - stia lontano dagli Yak, che preferiscono attaccare sempre e comunque.
Meglio che lo sappiate fin d'ora: a maggio all'uscita del loro nuovo album Iron Flavoured Candies (Otorecords/Aural Music) vi farete meno male.
Post-metal selvaggio - perchè qui del metal è rimasta solo la materia prima. Ossia il metallo, per l'appunto: con o senza chiodo, con la croce dritta o al rovescio, coi capelli fino al culo o a spazzola, gli Yak hanno poco a che fare con chi ti dice come vestirti.
Deliri ritmici, hardcore atonale e asimmetrico, fiati che si fanno strada fra chitarre bisontiche sono solo alcuni stralci del grande affresco postmoderno degli Yak. Le loro caramelle al gusto di ferro piaceranno ai fan dei Dillinger Escape Plan, dei Locust, agli orfani del crossover e del trip hop. E quando sarete convinti di averle finalmente digerite, vi bucheranno lo stomaco.
Those who love thet kind of metal music that plays on the defensive - like the kind that's stuck on old schemes just as the Paranoid's riff- should keep away from the Yak, who always like to be on the attack. You'de better be warned now, so that when their latest album comes out, "Iron Flavoured Candies" (Otorecords/Aural Music), you'll be less likely to be physically hurt. Wild Post-Metal, that's what it is: and that's because what is left of metal is just the rough ingredient. Metal, namely: with or without biker's jackets, wearing a straight or upside-down cross, with hair down to their arse or with a crew cut, the Yaks have nothing to do with the idea of "what to wear". Rhythmical delirium, atonal and asimmetrical hardcore, winds that find their way among bisontic humongous guitars are just an approximate picture of the great postmodern fresco the Yaks want to paint. Their iron-flavoured candies will be well appreciated by the fans of Dillinger Escape Plan, of the Locust, by all the orphans of crossover and trip hop. And when you think you will have digested their candies, they will be ready to pierce your stomach.
