My Interests

I suppose I will start by saying that the foundation of my perspective in life is that balance and harmony are very desirable and close to ideal. Extemes can be fun, vivid and stimulating to visit but I am not one for living in the heart of the storm, I am happier when I can attain periods of serenity; something that becomes harder as I grow older and life becomes more complicated. I still beleive in beauty, even unlikely beauty, I put too much faith in humanity and kindness, no matter how many times I am disapointed. I'd still rather be a bit naive and have some faith in the finer qualities I see in the people around me than become discouraged about life and inclined to bitterness and suspiscion. I like to think this aspect of my personality is why an ex used to say (somwhat derisively) that I was a “unicorn”. I may not be religious but I love goodness and I strain to find it. I never give up hope that it will appear. I know I am very sensitive and my dark cynicism and gothic aesthetic distract from the softer side of my nature, I like that, as a defense and for itself, I seem to have a gift for having hope for that which is hopless and seeing beauty in very unlikely places. I enjoy a lot of things; I am passionate about music, Industrial, goth, techno, rock operatic metal, classical… I usually enjoy music with complex layering and intelligent lyrics. I seen to prefer artists who utilize the differing assets of male and female vocals, maybe it speaks to my affection of harmony and discord, balance and extreme. I am an avid reader: Philosphopy, psychology, biographies, fantasy, fiction… Its all about the style of the writer or the the quality of the content rather than the genre itself. I collect art that inspires or moves me. I am intrigued by all aspect of photography. I have some ability in most artistic mediums, myself but it is nothing compared to the work I have seen from other people, I think it is very important to respect and support the arts. I am a dark, wicked girl in my own fashion, I am interested in fashion and I care about being well-groomed. I am still whimsical enough to love the dress-up and fantasy of fetish fashion, I like to take a stereotype and create a look that views it from a quirky angle or elevates it, I guess that is why I like the challenge of a themed event, I may not be a slave to the crowd but I do like and excuse to create what (to me) can be a full body artistic expression with a bit of outside direction. When I dress up, I do it because it stimulates my creativity, it’s fun for me. I enjoy dance, I have some history with ballet and gymnastics but there are some small aspects of other forms of dance I have picked up here and there. Dance is definitely something I would enjoy studying more, there are several things I intend to study as I find the time, I think dance stands high among them simply because it is athletic and I am drawn toward healthful habits. Like many other people I enjoy travel, cooking, itallian food, wine, good movies, good company, going out, lively debate, sincere compliments, the pride of accomplishment and the awe I feel when something seems almost perfect for a moment. There are a lot of terrible things in this world, maybe its because it is so much easier to be bad, negative, angry, bitter than to rise above it all, I guess that is my personal challenge: To be altruistic and positive even when it doesn’t pay, doesn’t influence others to become better people and isn’t appreciated. Afterall, I am just as flawed as anyone, I can only aspire to be something better.

I'd like to meet:

People with honor and character.People who can make me laugh, I am too serious.
