About Me

Days 2 Zero Live @ Medicine Bar Review By Stephen Hudyba
Wearing interesting, black and white, shirt and tie combos, Bromsgrove’s Days 2 Zero launched into their hard-edge emo/punk sound with enthusiasm and flare. Excellent percussion from Darren Roland, he propelled the band through their set, and on his drum solos took the chance to really show off his talent. Confident in their sound and confident in their delivery, the audience seemed to really enjoy the performance!
Excellent showmanship and compelling emo/hardcore from Days 2 Zero. Catchy riffs and vocal melodies, they made effective use of tempo changes to inject energy into their sound. Some solid material, distinguished by Steve’s punchy and melodic vocals, they performed with a great stage presence all round, and even got the (at first reluctant) audience, clapping happily along.
Days 2 Zero are clearly a well-accomplished band offering their take on the emo scene. The group relished being on stage and put in a frantic and completely entertaining performance. Their influences of Funeral For a Friend, alexisonfire, atreyu and Taking Back Sunday were clear. Despite a heavier sound compared to other bands of a similar genre the melody shone through thanks to some excellent performances from singer Stephen Strong and lead guitarist John Nightingale whose raw backing vocals were a particular highlight. Days 2 Zero proved to be a band that, despite only being together for a short while, already show signs of promising things. Unfortunately they didn’t quite make it through, but they showed they are definitely a band to watch out for.
