METAL HAMMER
"A very adept mix of distinctive vocal, fast paced horror-punk guitar riffing and some great proggy freakouts, Great songs with epic crescendos."
KERRANG!
"Buzzsaw flavored punk debut from Birmingham! It’s difficult to peg A Day Called Desire as a punk band or indeed pin them to any particular genre. There’s a punk influence in there, sure - the sheer maelstrom that ushers in "City of the Dead" makes for one of the most impressive openers you'll hear - but its funneled into a less definable rock format. They're at their best when at their most visceral. This is a fine debut from a band well worth tracking down."
BLACK VELVET MAGAZINE
"This 5 track EP is quite frankly a stunning affair, word has spread fast about A Day Called Desire and the buzz surrounding the band isnt simply hot air. This uniquely packaged EP should be heard at all costs!â€
SALVO MAGAZINE
"A Day Called Desire stand out from the pack with a boldly melodic and multi-faceted sound. While songs like 'City of the Dead' and 'Surface Shimmer' are certainly moving in their conviction, aggression and emotional range, this ain't emo. This is confident, intelligent and intense forward-thinking hardcore, with an artistically packaged cd, some top quality merch and an all action live show."
ROCKSOMETHING 4/5
"Drenched with infectious melodic oil and ignited by some rapid-fire musicianship, songs such as City of the Dead and Start of Something New show that this is an outfit willing to play their instruments rather than simply stand alongside them. Vocally impressive, he actually sings! Modern metal with audible lyrics? What an amazing idea! As long as this lot keep away from van fires (just check out their Myspace pictures), they've got a promising future ahead of them."
HARDROCKHOUSE 7/10
"In Daniel Crossan they have a vocalist who could easily stand shoulder to shoulder with some of the best names in the Rock scene and his quality alone is enough to elevate the band beyond the majority of their upcoming peers for me. I am also particularly interested in their Iron Maiden influence, which is extremely evident on the opening couple of tracks, City Of The Dead and Start Of Something New. There's a melodic metal tinge to the sound which is different and, in my opinion, superior to many of the other similar bands I've heard. Make every effort to catch them live!"
SUBBA-CULTCHA
"Powerful Pop Punk with AFIs knack for writing helium influenced melodies that captivate the listener whilst the music explodes on contact and forces you to sit up and listen, intently, from start to finish No breaks, you wuss!"
