About Me

I'm a part-time freelance photographer - see www.bandsonstage.co.uk for photo galleries, portfolio, contact details and all that jazz. My photos have been published in Alternative Mag, Classic Rock, Kerrang!, Spin, Playmusic, Bubblegum Slut, band websites, cd booklets (most recently The Wildhearts ).

Associate Editor of the brand new SoundCheck Magazine

Attention London bands!
Need photos? Budget problems? See my first hit for free offer to find out how to bag yourselves some quality shots for your MySpace profile.

I'm married to Jason , former bassist for Planet of Women . I may well have decided to pick up a camera to get out of lugging his Ampeg rig up flights of stairs :o).

I also have a full-time job in IT & VLE support, and am doing a part-time MA, and am now also trying to remotely co-ordinate a house renovation project in Mexico, so am constantly sleep deprived and expect to remain that way for the forseeable future!

In October 2006, my Friend Taz and I did the Great North Run in aid of Cancer Research, dressed as badgers (it's a long story). We did this for our wonderful friend Trace, who lost her battle with cancer on December 3rd 2006. We'll be donning our trainers again in 2008 - more info at www.madasbadgers.org .

My Interests

Photography, rock music, Mexico, good food, travel, roller derby, renovation projects. ..

I'd like to meet:

People with something to say for themselves, photography enthusiasts, *anyone* who doesn't object to having a camera pointed at them. People who understand the urge to travel halfway across the country, or indeed across a continent, for a gig. Anyone who understands that there doesn't always have to be a catch, and who accepts people for who and what they are, rather than what they think they should be! Free spirits, original thinkers, anyone who doesn't view life as a competition. People who aren't afraid of silence, people who understand the value of stopping to smell the roses.

Get in touch through MySpace or through my website .

Movies:

Sci-fi, anything Spanish language shot in or around Mexico, big cheesy blockbusters. Not so good with gorefests unless hiding behind sofa.....

Television:

Soaps and reality shows are generally a POINTLESS DRAIN OF LIFE FORCE.
My idea of hell is being strapped down and forced to watch Big Brother...

I am, however, a bit of a sad case when it comes to Sci-fi. I was addicted to Heroes, and I love Doctor Who - after that dire made-for-TV movie it could all have gone so horribly, horribly wrong, but it's great, and the recent casting of Derek Jacobi was an absolute masterstroke (see what I did there?). And I like Smallville, but apparently I'm not supposed to admit to that...doesn't matter, I had a cool bypass operation at birth...

..

Books:

Photography, web & design, Mexican cookery books, music & film biographies, silversmithing/jewellery design and animation stuff, and the occasional dollop of science. I don't get round to reading a lot of fiction these days, and it would take me a few months of solid reading just to get through the stuff I've bought and stockpiled - and that's without falling asleep on the sofa at the drop of a hat every time I get time to pick a book up... ..

I left the boys at home this afternoon and scooted off to Olympia for the MacLive Expo. I'd registered early and got myself a free ticket, saving 15 quid on the door price. This turned out to have bee...

Aaaaarrrrgggghhhh

Warfare has now been declared on the little furry buggers. Scavenging from under the birdcage is no longer good enough. NOW they are stealing food directly from the birds' food pot. They've also found ...
