I'm a 100% Fair Trade, Organic, Shade grown Coffee Roaster based in the general area of Birmingham, Alabama. I give 1% of my annual gross (not profit) sales to environmental groups. I also buy wind credits to offset my energy use. I make really good coffee. Check me out. Higher Ground Roasters

The 12th annual Green Tie Affair hosted by the Alabama Environmental Council is one event you don't want to miss. A night of food, music,and fun provided by local green companies.And of course we will be brewing our coffee.

Herbs For Health Magazine Article on Shade Grown Coffee
Herbs for Health Magazine has a wonderful article on the importance of Shade Grown coffees-- their significance for the bean, the farmers, and the migratory species that rely on the forest canopy. Higher Ground Roasters is mentioned as a shade grown company, and in fact, all our beans are shade grown-- none are grown from clear-cutting or conventional methods.
