MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY
I firmly believe in the power of ONE. You can make a difference in this world, you just have to be willing to put yourself out there. I am very blessed to live in a country where I am free. My children will never want for anything. They will never know poverty. I know how fiercly I love them, and I cry for all the mothers in the world who can't provide security for their children, be it for political, economical, racial or religious reasons.
It was for this reason that our family decided to sponsor a child, Doreen, who is 5. She is from Uganda. Then when our youngest son was toilet trained, we decided to use the money we would normally spend on nappies to sponsor Maria, who is 3. She is from Mexico City.
We sponsor them through ChildFund, and when our daughter is toilet trained, we will sponsor another child, this time in India.
I am very passionate about this cause. I believe that no child should have to suffer. Nelson Mandela said "poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings". As a human being, I believe it to be my duty to do whatever I can, no matter how small, to contribute to ending poverty forever..
Featured Artist:I am all for supporting local and independant musicians, so each week I feature one of my faves, to help spread the grooves I love so well..
I have just recently found Jed and his music, and can't wait to get my hands on his EP "Life" when I go see him play at The Elwood Lounge on March 1st. He is playing a few other gigs in Melbourne through March, as well as The Basin Music Festival. Check him out, head down to a gig, and enjoy some fine Australian music!

About me:
I'm just a girl in this world, getting by because I have a family who loves me
for me, and friends who are always there.
I am married to the most amazing man. I love Waz eternally.
He is my puzzle piece. We just fit.
Together we are raising the three most beautiful and amazing children.
We are very proud watching them grow and learn, each and every day.
A few things that I love:
my family & friends, music, art, card games, festivals, op-shopping, dreadlocks, gigs, camping, ebay, coffee, scratchies, sleeping in, bare feet, making things, vegan chocolate, road-trips, live music, beer, acts of random kindness..
e11even:
Waz plays guitar in this band. His best mate Luke sings. They really do rock. One of my favourite pastimes is sitting down listening to these boys belt out some funky tunes.
