About Me
I grew up in a 'new town' called Glenrothes (Fife, Scotland) - a concrete metropolis and home to the largest roundabout in Europe. I was always surrounded by music as my parents were (and still are) music teachers. I played the clarinet and saxophone in all the bands and orchestras throughout school.
As an early teenager I was originally into death metal and punk but as I got closer to 18, I started converting to electronic and club music. I was also making experimental techno tracks with an Atari and some borrowed sound modules.
At the age of 18 I escaped from Glenrothes and moved to Edinburgh to study music. I started frequenting clubs like Pure, Wilkie House, Calton studios and the Honeycomb and got a real taste for techno, often seeing Dj's like Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Joey Beltram, Surgeon and Dave Clarke. The atmosphere in this club - Pure, was something else, a real inspiration for my productions, trying to capture the energy I had experienced at the club in my tracks. I was also buying a lot of techno and Chicago/Detroit house vinyl and taking influences from them.
After three years in Edinburgh, I moved to London to study music technology. Since moving there I have had a lot more musical influences and in particular tech-house. With this, my productions have moved from hard minimal techno towards a deeper, funkier tech-no-house sound.
