Warlust started in the spring of 1998 by Furor (guitar/bass), 66Sick (guitar) and Nocturnasz (drums), who had previously been playing in another black metal band called Denethor. After a few months of intense rehearsing and songwriting they decided that the time had come to record their first mini CD.
As they didn't have a vocalist at that time they asked Lord Charagnanna, who was the singer of a.o. Sabbatical Goat, to do the vocals on the recording. He agreed and during January and February the band headed into Franky's Recording Kitchen to record "the Final War", which was later released by Happy Holochrist Records (July 1999). Charagnanna became a permanent member and soon after that Troll, another member of Sabbatical Goat, was recruited to take over the bass duties from Furor.
The Final War got great reviews in underground (web)zines all over the world. They did lots of gigs in Holland and abroad with both Dutch and international bands and proved that they were one of the most extreme bands from the Netherlands. A nice thing to mention is that some of the venues (and also some bands) in Holland boycotted Warlust for their disturbing and provoking behaviour. The lyrics from their song "Sterf Christenhond" is still seen as one of the most provoking lyrics ever on dutch ground.
In January and April 2001 they recorded their debut CD "Trench War" at Harrow Productions, which was suppossed to be released somewhere in 2001, but the band decided to split up and the CD was not released until 2003.
Warlust describes their music as Terroristic War Metal; fast and aggresive black metal, combined with slower but still powerfull parts and some minor thrash and death metal influences. Expect only ultra aggressive and hellish Terroristic Raw Fucking Metal!!!!
Regimental Records will also re-release "The Final War" in 2006. It will contain all songs from the Mini Cd plus a demo track from PESTIS (featuring Nocturnasz & Furor).
