Harbingers Of Modern Death

About Me

Absence Of The Sacred (A.O.T.S.) was formed in early 2005 by Mike P. (Guitars/Vocals) and Hans (Drums). A.O.T.S. currently comprises of Mike P., Hans, Darren (Lead Guitars) and Mike K. (Bass Guitars), forming an international alliance of sonic devastation with members from Singapore, Indonesia and the United States.
A.O.T.S. has played in over sixty live shows locally and has emerged as a venue finalist in the World Battle of the Bands in Singapore, the first extreme death metal act in Singapore to ever reach that level in an international band competition.
A.O.T.S. has been active in major metal events in Singapore since late 2005 and have released their debut album “Atrocities That Birthed Abominations” in late 2006, which has garnered great reviews in local and foreign media. The album has received airplay in radio stations across the US, Europe and Asia.
In early 2007, A.O.T.S. obtained a proper residency in The Gas Haus (a local club and venue) for "Heart Of Darkness", a Jack Daniels-sponsored weekly event hosted by DJ Saito Nagasaki of Divine 9 and DJ X Ho of Lush 99.5FM and Radio Singapore. The event has since shifted to DXO at the Esplanade and is renamed as "Alternation". A.O.T.S. has since turned down the residency in lieu of schedule conflicts.
The band recorded a promotional EP in June 2007 for labels, and will be recording their sophomore effort entitled "Era Of The Apostate" at the end of 2007. The band is still looking for a suitable label to release this upcoming fury.
For a metal band that has existed for a period of less than three years, A.O.T.S. have established themselves well in the Asian region and soon to a wider international audience, an extreme force to be reckoned with.

"Atrocities that Birthed Abominations sound fresh from the first track to the last. The entire album generates a post-apocalyptic atmosphere, dealing with the decline of humanity and how the world is just going down. Absence of the Sacred paints a picture of the "Abominations" that are spawned from our "Atrocities" in a chillingly effective manner, all the while escorted by the tight musicianship and sonic soundscapes." - Encyclopaedia Metallum
"Hailing from Singapore, Absence Of The Sacred proposes through this album a very good mix between Old School Death Metal, Melodic Death Thrash (like The Crown, old Dark Tranquillity...) and the whole atmosphere is tainted with a Black Metal mood. One thing that strikes during this cd is their very groovy force during all the tracks. The sound of the guitars reminds me a bit of some old Sigh...The main voice is very guttural and the first band to who we can think of is Avulsed. The album is very rich in breaks and in variations of melodies. The whole sounds very melodic but also thrashy. They give us a good revival of Death metal from the early 90s." - Yargla Webzine (FR)
"The raging Death Metal formation from Singapore, a full blitzkrieg assault of lethal proportions!" - Poetry Of The Dead Label and Distro (BEL)
