Founded and led by lead guitarist / main songwriter Bryan J in early 2005, the band continues on its path of destruction to date.
PSYCHOTHERAPY is a four piece horror metal band comprising of Penny Torture on vocals, Bryan J on all guitars, Byron Kaz on drums and JY taking charge of all bass duties and backing vocals.
The 2008 release of Metal Madness, the 4-track Demo/Ep that consists of songs which had been written as early as 2005, but never recorded or included in a live set until early 2007. The Psycho sound is a mix of various influences. Heavy metal in general however; songs like “Kunt†would showcase a more aggressive style, which would be more prominent in upcoming material.
Lyrically, common themes would be in relation to insanity and other forms of perversions.
PSYCHOTHERAPY has played for several events at various locations. The band’s live showcase usually invokes an adverse response from the crowd, being a visual band by nature. PSYCHOTHERAPY stands out as one of the few visual bands in Singapore, if not the only.
The band is currently working on a full length production and has plans for a 2009 release. Expect a unique blend of death, thrash and heavy metal – a much more aggressive approach as compared to the band’s earlier releases.
