DISINTERIUM was first conceived as Ostygius in the month of June 2005 in Singapore, Southeast Asia. Ostygius started off as a jam band, but soon got serious in writing songs in mid-2006. Darren does the main songwriting for Disinterium. Mike, from Absence of the Sacred, volunteered to session for us, as well as write lyrics for the songs.
In August 2006, we entered Studiophile Studios to have three of our original songs recorded in a simultaneous multi-layer recording. All of the instruments were recorded live except for the bass and the vocals, which were layered into the mix. These jam recordings can be previewed right here on the myspace player.
Disinterium is still going strong, and a proper recording of an EP is being planned. Disinterium (then Ostygius) played their first show at the Gas Haus on 20th October 2006, and thus began the birth of a rising force. Ostygius has since changed its name to DISINTERIUM and made a few lineup changes.
Disinterium has decided to part ways with bassist Sean Harrison. Dave and Marcus have unfortunately decided to leave the band. We welcome to the lineup Elijah Matthew on drums. Disinterium is currently searching for a bassist and guitarist.
