Mahatma Gandhi, statesman and philosopherOne question I get a lot is why are you veggie? I'd have to say I never really was big on the whole meat eating thing from when I was very young. I remember being back in Alabama visiting relatives and my uncle and his friend came home with a wild bore they had in the back of their truck. It was still alive screaming something fierce. I couldn't have been more than 7-8 years old. I remember my mom telling me to get in the house and how I felt such concern for that living creature. The next day we're at a BBQ and I over heard someone saying, "Now isn't this that wild bore you caught yesterday?" as they're taking a bite out of something. I made the connection then and it stuck. Not realizing at the time I did have other choices (My parents just didn't come from that generation to know any better) I continued to eat meat but very seldom. It was when i was around 20 I made to switch-over for good and haven't looked back since.
