About Me

Sometime in the mid 90’s Øyvind Winther, aka Warach, started working on a solo project under the banner “Wolf 327”. The music was a very melodic and orchestrated kind of metal with basis in guitars combined with samples from Digitracker on the Atari Falcon 030. At the time Ståle S. aka DJ Savitri, known from “Dark City”, did the vocals and a demo was recorded in 1998 on a 4 track analog recorder. It was duplicated in only 10 copies.
In 1995 Warach met Ghâsh at Heimdal College of Music in Trondheim (Heimdal vgs, musikklinja). Being the only metalheads in their respective classes among jazz and classical oriented freaks, they soon teamed up, and Warach joined Ghash’s band Ildskjær as a bass player parallel to the Wolf 327 project. Ildskjaer later changed name to “Keep of Kalessin” and Warach stayed with the band during the recording of the Kalessin demo and 2 first albums “Trough Times of War” and “Agnen”, before deciding to leave the band in 1999.
The Wolf 327 demo was sent out to a few lables in 1998 and there were talks with two of them regarding album release, but Warach didn’t feel this project was quite ready yet and postponed the plans. (in retrospect this was apparently bad judgement as the album is still under construction almost 10 years later) In early 2000 Warach started rehearsing with Kalessin drummer Vyl to record drums for the album while trying different singers. Vegar Harkjerr (The Apparatus / Third Kind) ended up as the choise for vocals, and he stayed with the band for quite some time. To make the rehersals more interesting Mikal Svendsen joined as bass player and Cultar as 2nd guitarist, making this a 5 member band. The strange thing was that the love of doing Pantera cover songs completely took over and soon the real reason behind the rehersals was more or less forgotten as Heresy and Domination were thundering trough the speakers. The absurdity was topped with a 80’s metal party arranged by “Dark City” in Trondheim where Antares Predator was doing “Twisted Sister” coversongs for the occation.
A demo was recorded in 2002 with Ghâsh back doing the vocals, but as it was mainly done to try some new microphones and equipment, it was never sent to lables or distributed in any way. In 2003 Warach moved from Trondheim to Oslo, again putting Antares Predator on ice and splitting up the 5 member lineup. This decision was of a personal nature and had nothing to do with the band, but again.. Antares Predator was getting nowhere.
In 2006, Alex from Macabre Omen (that released the first Kalessin demo in 96) got back in touch. Hearing Antares Predator was in need of a drummer, he introduced Italian BM drummer Thorns (Handfull of Hate), that during the summer 2006 recorded drums for 3 AP songs, and did vocals on one of them. The result of this is the MiniCd “Baunquet of Ashes” due for relese in September 2007, containing those 3 songs and some remixed versions from the 2002 demo.
Meanwhile Warach found the perfect technical drummer for Antares Predator; Blastphemer from Germany and recorded drums for 13 songs with him in Kohlekeller Studio near Frankfurt , Germany late summer 2006. Since then the album has been under construction in the home studio of Warach, progressing as fast as time allows besides other work related obligations. At present time 01.08.2007, all guitars and most of the bass is recorded and only vocals remain.
