The King Of Remixxes Is Returning.......
Stay Tuned For Updates!!!!
..
Why do you call yourself DJ Slip?
Well two reasons actually: (1) I always manage to slip out some wicked mixxes (2) As tribute to DJ Slip in the 80's, from The X-Men, along with The Unknown DJ & ProfessorX (aka The Arabian Prince from N.W.A.), better known to some as Tekno-Hop Muzik.
What started you off mixing?
I have always had a love for music of all kinds since a very young age, I started out by joining the school band in third grade playing percusion naturally. The thing that really set me off into the love of mixxing was while I was living in Bay Area of California I heard the amazing magical sounds of Cameron Paul in the mixx on 106.1 KMEL, I was hooked and had to listen everytime he was on the air.
I was also heavily influenced by some of the great artists at the time as well, including The X-Men, , DJ Slip, The Unknown DJ, Professor X, DJ Battery Brain, DJ Battlecat, NWA, Arabian Prince, The Egyptian Lover, Afro-Rican, DJ Magic Mike, Beatmaster Clay D, Dynamix II, just to name a few.......
From there I began by doing little mixx tapes for friends, the school dances, and then in highschool I would do house parties, sometimes beach parties too. Later after school I started out helping out at a few clubs and later shared the residency with my mentor from one club for several years until the club closed down and I decided to take a break as I was about burned out anyway.
