Cut It Up Def Records was established in 1989..By Bob "Scorpio" Smith. This label was a Launching pad for producers Jock-D, Gemini, and Jealous J (Now called Jim Jonsin)..The Label Released many 12'' singles that are now considered cult classics in the genre of miami bass music..However things went sour when pandisc records entered the game...Although The Cut It Up Def Miami Bass Jams album was a major success. Acheiving gold status..Bob smith did not handle his buisness wisely and most of the money went in to Bo Crane of pandiscs pocket..a pupil of henry stone of Tk and Hot productions.Bo crane successsfully swindled all of the earnings from the artists and bob smith..all Of the artists left to pursue other opportunities..Jock went to NY and pursued his 1st love ..Authentic Hip-hop... Gemini works for costco and lives in virginia with his wife and 2 kids..Jim Jonsin (Jealous J) went on to become a very successful mainstream rap and r&b Producer with longtime friend kooley-c..producing such hits as "Lets go" Trick-Daddy..Pitbull..."unpredictable" Jaimie Foxx and Luda..Danity Kane's Showstopper..and more..Jock..Jim and Kooley still reside in south florida.still stay in contact ..most importantly are still very good friends...The Rebirth...What Bo Crane didnt realize ..was that while he was releasing cut it up def materials over seas...he was widening the fan base and demand for our style of bass music WORLDWIDE!!...with the help of sites like myspace and Yahoos miami bass history group...Jock was bombarded with e-mails and messages from all over the globe demanding more bass!!! more scratching!!! More Cut It Up Def!!...JuniorRock Of the incredible SOUND CHASERS suggested that Jock bring the label back for 2007..Intrigued by the Idea..Jock Investigated and found that the company had been a non entity for the past 10 or so years..and the trademark was available..after a few conversations with laywers..a search..a 425 dollar application fee..Jock-D was the new owner of Cut it up def records...fortunatley Jock Has contacted Bob Smith and secured the rights to release the original catalog so look out for the remastered "Miami Bass Jams Album" with welcome additions from Breezy Beat Mc "Shake The Joint" and Splack Packs "Shake It Baby'" also the lost classic "Get-Up" by Jonski...Under The Name Cut It Up Def Records V2.0..
