Native-Floridian DAVIE-D, a DJ/Producer and owner of X-CELL ENTERTAINMENT started his DJ career back in 1988 as a skating rink DJ spinning "FREESTYLE/DANCE", "CLUB", "TOP 40", "MIAMI BOOTY/BASS", and "HIP-HOP" music.
In 1991, he moved to Orlando to take his career to it's next plateau. He teamed up with his good friend and mentor... Miami's legendary "DJ LAZ" AKA "THE PIMP WITH THE LIMP AKA "THE KING OF BASS", and life-long friend DJ NITO (of Miami) spinning "MIAMI BOOTY/BASS" and "HIP-HOP" at some of Orlando's premier nightclubs like "DEKKO'S" (known today as "TABU"), ZUMA BEACH, J.J. WHISPERS, THE EMBASSY, VISAGE, INFINITY, THE MILL (UCF), THE FRAT HOUSE, HEADLIGHTS, THE 4TH FIGHTER GROUP, INTERNATIONAL REGGAE CLUB, HEROES, CLUB DIAMONDS, VOCANO'S AND ROXY'S. With his skills and popularity, Davie was quickly picked up by 102 JAMZ FM and became the radio station's "All Ages Bass Invasion" DJ co-hosted by radio personality/DJ BARTELL BARTELL (RIP). For four years he rocked the "teen" clubs in the Central Florida area as well as many of the adult/college clubs that 102 JAMZ hosted. He was a regular guest DJ on THE THUNDERSTORM" a mix show hosted by the twin DJs "TWICE AS NICE aka BABALU BAD BOYS (Richie Rich and DJ Ray Miranda)" Monday through Friday from 10pm-12am which gave Davie even more exposure. To club enthusiasts, Davie-D seemed to be the next Magic Mike. If not... better. Many still think this today.
In 1995, Davie expanded his horizons even further... After being introduced to the underground scene and it's electronic sound, he quickly went from spinning "HIP-HOP" and "BOOTY" music to spinning "FUNKY", "ELECTRO", "BREAKS". Combining his unique scratching and "HIP-HOP" style to his flawless mixing skills, he picked up residencies at historic clubs such as ULTRAVIOLET (UV)/ORLANDO, CAFE 11/ORLANDO, ERIC'S DOWNTOWN CAFE/ORLANDO, CLASS BREAKS/UCF, KNIGHT LIBRARY/UCF, SOL-RAYS/DAYTONA, CYBERZONE/ORLANDO, CALICO JACK'S/UCF, LATE NITE LIBRARY/TALLAHASSEE, THE CLUB @ FIRESTONE/ORLANDO, SKINNY'S/ORLANDO, ALPHA BAR/ORLANDO, MIMOSA/ORLANDO, THEE GROTTO/ORLANDO, ELI'S CRIBB/ORLANDO, ANNIE'S BAR/ORLANDO, VOLUME/ORLANDO, THE UNDERGROUND/TAMPA, SIN/YBOR CITY, PASSION/YBOR CITY, FUSION/ORLANDO, BLUE ROOM/ORLANDO and VINTAGE/ORLANDO (just to name a few) where he spun alongside DJs/friends such as: Icey, Huda Hudia, Baby Anne, AK1200, Daisy, D-Xtreme, Keoki, Friction & Spice, Chris Domingo, Dave Trance, Chang, Kimball Collins, Josh Wink, Andy Hughes, Rob-E, Monk, DJ Sandy, Stylus, Fixx, Brad Smith, Rich Rosario, Funk Lab, Mike-B, Debbie-D, George Acosta, R-Fresh, and the list goes on and on.
Believe it or not, Davie was an influence to many DJs growing up in the underground scene including Dj Fixx and J-Break... Two of Florida's most sought after DJ/Producers.
Davie's cuts and scratches were showcased on his first release "Drop The Boom" on Tweak Records Productions' "The Herbal Crew EP (T.H.C.)" which was a collaboration with the late DJ Hip-E (Brandon Smith) and Steve Cook. His scratches can also be recognized on DJ J-Break's 2000 release "C'mon And Touch Me" from "The Homegrown Breaks EP" which was played in heavy rotation in mix-shows on Party 95.3FM in Orlando, Florida.
Davie is now part of the Florida's NEWEST and HOTTEST indie record label... OVEN FRESH RECORDS/DNF MUSIC (D-Lerium, and DJ Faze). He did the cuts and scratches on "I'm On It (Scratch n' Sniff Remix)", Mike and Charlie's 2006 remix "Chunky Love", and OFR's '07 remix of "I Feel This Way" by Groovkids. All tracks are club/crowd favorites and are played on radio mix-shows across the nation.
To this day, Davie-D is still rockin' the decks throughout the U.S. with his intense, bassed-out sets sharing the spot-light with DJs/artists such as Icey, Stanton Warriors, Deekline & Wizard, DJ Rap, DJ Craze, Donald Glaude, Krafty Kutz, Uberzone, Baby Anne, and Jackal and Hyde.
Davie-D... A name that EVERYONE knows... And RESPECTS. This DJ is guaranteed to not only pack the dancefloor, but the whole club or ANY venue! No wonder he's a promoter's favorite.
