I love classic cars in general and Ford Motor Company products in particular. I like writing (obviously, since I'm an author) and the research that's needed sometimes.
I'm interested in my kids, of course. This wild dream exists in my head that I might become a famous fiction author; I hope networking on MySpace can help with that. Am interested in being contacted by authors going through the publishing process. Discussion about agents, editors, publishers, etc.
People who are interested in reading my books! After meeting my readers, I would like to meet people like Stephen King and fellow authors higher up the "popularity ladder" to find out what they know. Stuff to do and stuff to avoid. People can recommend literary agents that worked well for them and those that are scams. I'm wanting (and trying) to climb out of the self-published and PublishAmerica quagmire toward the stratosphere populated by Dell, Ballentine, Pocket and such esteemed fiction publishing houses. I have my "Two Roads to Reunion" manuscript being considered by Triad Publishing Group and I encourage all up-and-coming authors to give them a look. They are in my Top Friends list.

The 1970s was THE best decade for music! A post-divorce former girlfriend thinks I'm stuck in the past. Anyway, I like groups like Aerosmith, ABBA, The Carpenters, Kansas, Boston, ZZ Top, Ace, some Hamilton Joe Frank & Reynolds, some Led Zepplin, Santana and Blue Suede come to mind right off.
I guess my interest runs from about 1972 to 1988, tapering off after that. Some modern stuff that trips my trigger is "Stacy's Mom" and "The Game of Love," but songs like those are few and far between. Give me "Carry On Wayward Son" and "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas. "Falling in Love" by Hamilton Joe Frank & Reynolds makes me teary-eyed; it makes me think of the unobtainable girl of my dreams from high school. "More Than a Feeling" and "Long Time" by Boston. "Dream On" and "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith. And bunches more.
All the "Star Trek" and "Star Wars" stuff. Also liked "Jaws" and saw it new on October 10, 1975 at age fifteen. Had to lie to my parents to go see it. And believe it or not, I watch chick flicks. They provide good insight for female reactions and dialogue to use in my books. (If that sounds strange, consider: How does a man write convincing dialogue about what women think or feel without having a female point of view?) I've seen What Women Want and Big, as well as Must Love Dogs and Unfaithful. (Diane Lane--Yum!) Saw Swimming and Sleepless in Seattle. Wasn't disturbed by the famous scene in When Harry Met Sally...
If you can find it, watch Breaking Up Is Hard To do. It's old (1979) and it's long (4 hours) but it'll give women an insight into what happens to men after the relationship goes sour.
I follow all three "CSI" shows. Love "NCIS" and the "SVU" version of "Law & Order". "Tuesday Night Book Club" used to be watched for insight to female thinking for my books; wish they'd bring it back.
Also "That 70s Show" was followed before it went away, as was "Star Trek: The Next Generation." And the world comes to a complete stop when I'm watching "Boston Legal". Shatner and Spader---a match made in Heaven!
I'm an author so I love books. Beyond that, I don't read all that much. It's aggarvating to come across a good turn-of-phrase that I could have used in MY OWN books! But I do have a library of car manuals and magazines; about 12,000 pieces I guess. They take up seven bookcases anyway.
Former president Ronald Reagan. He was the best president of the 20th Century. Also current president George W. Bush; he's no Reagan, but he's better than some left-wing malcontent who complains a lot but can't offer a specific plan of his/her own. (Are reading this, Al and Hillary?)
Fellow authors Stephen King ("Carrie" and "Christine") and the late John Steinbeck ("The Grapes of Wrath"). Oh, to be as successful as those guys!
And my Lord and Savior, Jesus of Nazareth. He carried me through a lot of crap when my family was slowly splintering and falling apart. I am what I am today because of Him.
