Influences: All those trying to create a pop-punk community.
After asking where to find listings of local shows that I might be interested in, I was directed to a few websites with a handful of listings. The music listings in the Village Voice give you no idea what the band sounds like. Relying on friends to let you know who is playing when seemed like a gamble. Someone needed to take the bull by the horns, so it might as well be me. Not everything listed is truly pop-punk, but I try to pick shows that would be of interest to those fans.
Sounds Like: For those of you who arent sure what pop-punk is, or who havent been exposed to much outside of the MTV/Top 40 world yet, think DIY Green Day, A New Found Glory, or NoFX. For those of you unsure if youd like these local bands but know the bigger acts on smaller labels, think Screeching Weasel, The Queers, or MTX.
