Billy Powell, of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Billy was one of the cowriters of the original material known to all that became the classic sound the world knows as SKYNYRD. A survivor of the 1977 plane crash that took the lives of Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, and road manager Dean Kilpatrick and the pilots, has gone on to tribute his friends with his piano playing excellence that was a main feature of the Lynyrd Skynyrd sound.
