...aint that somethin?
HELL YEAH!!!
We'll be doing Steve's Song
"AINT NO GOOD LIFE"
TO TRIBUTE STEVE GAINES
CUZ THAT BLUES BROTHER
OF RONNIE'S HAD SO MUCH SOUL
...AND TALENT...LIKE THE REST
...OF THE FREEBIRDS that
to this day...
...whenever I hear Robert Cray's
"Still Hot Smoking Gun"
...which is a Blues
Rock song
done by A Real Black Blues Man,
...it reminds me of Steve Gaines!!!
Steve and Ronnie could really
emote & Sing That Black Blues!
I met a tattoo covered
Truck Drivin Biker Guy
one night and coincidentally
had been listening to the
song with intent to add it.
I sang a few lines at him
and he slapped hands with
me upon hearing what & who
I sing for. I did RVZ's classics
that he requested at this club's
Karaoke night and had a good
ole time n'a few beers'n laughs
on just how many cool frynds
Ronnie Van Zant has across
this great country, and all the
places this Harley Riding
Truck Driving man has been.
SO I GUESS IT'S OFFICIAL!
Add-TRUCK DRIVING MAN
To the above list of songs
in no specific order to be
Rocked Out For RVZ's Fans!
"WELL I'M... TALKING... ABOUT
A TRUCK DRIVING MAN
YEAH HE'LL AL...WAYS GIVE YA
THE BEST THAT HE CAN..."
---------UPDATE----------
To All Who Don't Know About This.
On 2-20-03, We lost a couple of
dear frynds in The Station Fire.
One was Tina "Blackie" Ayer who
was like a Sister to me and saved
my life when she came over and
got me out of bed and took
me to the hospital. I had a deadly
case of food poisoning that they
said would have killed me in 2 days
had she not brought me in the E.R.
She would have been one of our
background singers as a Cochette
as we call our version of Honkettes.
I miss her and will be dedicating
FREEBIRD to the Departed of L.S.
as well as Tina and The 100 who
crossed in THE STATION FIRE.
We also lost a friend who was like
a Big Bro to Annie who founded
Station Fire Friends Unite.
He was the DJ, Doctor Metal
THE DR. - MIKE GONSALVES who
was seen outside coughing but
went back in to help and save
others but never came out of it.
We know how GENE and the
survivors of SKYNYRD feel.
IT SUCKS AND NEVER HEELS.
When others move on after
the press focuses on it, we still
forever feel the sting of it all.
Gene can't go fishing with RVZ
and I will be on stage knowing
TINA or BLACKIE, as we called
her because like Johnny Cash
she wore black all the time,
won't be there singing behind
me and traveling with us when
we git on down the road!
This week we celebrated
the people we loved and lost
on The Station Grounds with
the many who are still crushed.
My mom had a couple more
strokes and won't be around
to ever see me perform in
this called LYVYN SKYN'D
so I will dedicate Simple Man
to her when we play it LIVE.
PLEASE SUPPORT THIS ORG.
and the other STATION Orgs.
I'm Keepin On, Keeping On
with a song in my heart
faith, and hope in my soul.
GOD BLESS, AND WE WILL
SEE YOU SOON WITH THE
TRIBUTE TO RVZ THAT
WILL BE LIKE A PHOENIX
RISING FROM THE ASHES!
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
KEEP ON
KEEPING ON, AND GET READY
TO GIT YOUR SOUTHERN ROCKS
OFF LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!!
Your Frynd

Check Out The Crosses
I built for Tina and for
Mike, DR. METAL
Some may think I'm an RVZ
knockoff who happens
to sound like Ronnie, but
I'm an original songwriter
who worked real hard to
tribute Ronnie's sound.
I just today uploaded one of my
songs for yall to hear over here.
Over the last few years it's
gone around online and it's
become an anthem around
the world for many who
have ever lost a friend.
On Weds 2-20-08 the song
was played at 11:11pm
on the Station Site for all
who showed up for the
candlelight vigil to remember
those lost on 2-20-03.
It's an honor to do this for
those who feel the song is
an accurate description of all
the pain they have felt
You see I wanted yall to
get to know my sound as
a tribute to Ronnie 1st, but now
I've let yall in on the secret.
I wrote it with Annie for Tina
Doc and THE STATION FIRE 100.
To Hear one of my originals
click Heaven's Light-by RC
It's kinda MY OWN
mellow FREEBIRD-like tune.
We are a tribute to RVZ but I'm
not an RVZ Impersonator.
I just worked hard to sing his
songs like him, but my songs
like me.
Below is a recent Video of
Coach Skinner and Ronnie's Frynd
& Bodyguard Gene Odom speaking
of Old School Days and the last few
moments aboard the plane that fell
to Earth on October 20th, 1977.
God Bless This Man...
...Gene Odom, who had more
concern for Ronnie's life and safety
than for his own life and well being.
